This is a stunning contemporary property situated on the banks of the River Tamar, with the historic Mount Edgcumbe estate beyond, with glorious views, this property sits near the village of Millbrook on the beautiful and much sought after Rame Peninsula. Directly on the water’s edge with its own mooring and pontoon, this special property was listed in the Sunday Times as one of the best 50 British cottages for summer, although this property is a truly all year destination for anyone looking to enjoy a truly memorable holiday.

The spacious sitting area is truly luxurious, with floor-to-ceiling glazing and an ultra-modern kitchen where bi-folding glass doors open onto a stunning terrace, bringing the outside in where you can dine alfresco in the best surroundings with the best views, gazing out at the boats sailing by and the horizon beyond. Each bedroom boasts sliding doors through which you can access the terrace and lawned garden outside, providing a perfect haven into which you can retreat and surround yourself with tranquil scenes of the river at sunset. If you can be tempted away from Ancarva either by boat or car, you will be rewarded with the beautiful beaches and secluded coves all along the coast. There is a plethora of excellent places to dine, including The View near Whitsand Bay and The Canteen at Maker Heights. The charming seaside villages of Cawsand and Kingsand are also close by and the magical Rame Peninsula is just waiting to be explored. Ancarva is such a special place to stay at any time of year; it really does have it all.

Set in a bowl of hills at the head of a tidal creek that leads to the Hamoaze, opposite the great naval city of Plymouth, Millbrook is located on the Rame Peninsula, "Cornwall's Forgotten Corner". Bounded by the Lynher and Tamar rivers, the Hamoaze and the sea, the area is deeply rural and designated as one of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village has a good range of shops and pubs, while close by are the pretty coastal villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, from which a ferry will take you to Plymouth.

The rooms are light due to the amount on glass so the views are always there. The house is finished to a very high standard and everything is there that you could possibly want for a relaxing and peaceful holiday.

We could not fault anything and had a wonderful week. Brilliant weather too!!

The weather always helps and we had summer conditions in late October. This allowed outside dining on the covered patio and safe daily kayaking for all the family. So easy with the pontoon. This was an enormous hit with two grandchildren who spent hours catching crabs and small fish when the tide was in. The facilities indoors were excellent too. In poor weather there would have been plenty of games books and DVDs to keep us amused. Real luxury thank you Mark.
