For a day at the beach, head to the idyllic cove of Bossiney or the golden sands of Trebarwith Beach, where you can bathe with your favourite book, paddle the shores, or build sandcastles with the little ones. Just a short drive away is the pretty village of Boscastle, home to an idyllic quay and welcoming pubs and restaurants for a quick refuel during your excursions. Travel further afield to the popular destinations of Polzeath and Rock, well-known for their fantastic selection of watersports, including the local’s favourite of surfing, as well as paddlboarding, and waterskiing. Popular but not congested, Tintagel is the site of the mythical King Arthur's Castle, whose ruins dominate the cliffside just beyond the settlement. Surfing is the main draw for people who enjoy the water, and several beaches, including adjacent Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove, are easily accessible. The Old Post Office (National Trust) in Tintagel is a must-see among the town's many taverns and restaurants. As a bonus for those who want a challenge, the SW Coast Path runs right through town, winding its way down the cliffs and to the water's edge.
