The seaside village of Polzeath boasts a sandy beach, which is bordered by rock pools and is acclaimed to be one of the best surfing beaches in the country. Polzeath itself has a number of small shops, cafes and restaurants, and the South West Coast Path, a 630-mile route, runs through the village. Just over seven miles away is the popular market town of Wadebridge, which is set alongside the River Camel and offers an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as North Cornwall's only family-owned cinema. There’s wonderful countryside in the area, with the renowned Camel Trail passing through the town, and the nearby town of Padstow, with its harbour, pastel-washed medieval houses and celebrated restaurants is well worth exploring. Within driving distance is the UK surfing capital of Newquay, with over 11 miles of golden sandy beaches. Polzeath is an excellent base for exploring this part of Cornwall.

We had a few small issues with maintenance/cleanliness which once resolved would have made our stay even better. 1. The water dispenser in the fridge didnât work. 2. The dishwasher was not cleaning very well but on investigation the filter and jets were blocked and we had to clean. 3. The bbq was filthy and clearly not cleaned by previous tenants so we had to clean in order to use. 4. Several of the pans did not work on the induction hob so were useless and need removing. 5. The window latch in the main bedroom was defective and the window was difficult to open/close. 6. We couldnât find the coloured recycling bags the dustbin label mentioned were in the property so couldnât recycle any of our rubbish.

When we arrived the patio door lock was broken and the property not secure. This was corrected within an hour (good service) We raised a number of maintenance and cleanliness issues which we believe were passed to the owner who has confirmed that they will be dealt with. This was a 5* property that has been neglected, but with some urgency would be back to 5* relatively quickly and easily. It was a shame, but Sykes/John Bray were very good. Hopefully the issues will be corrected quickly.

Parking tight for two large cars but not really a problem. Superb holiday destination, would highly recommend.
