About this property

Sitting in the heart of Carbis Bay is this contemporary, first-floor duplex apartment with sea views in Cornwall, Samphire. A great base for touring, the apartment welcomes a family of four to relax on the beach, discover Cornwall's beautiful sights and heritage, and find everything they need for a self-catering stay. The first floor hosts a light and airy, open-plan living space with a pristine kitchen equipped with an electric oven, induction hob, fridge/freezer, and a washer/dryer to freshen up sandy towels ready for tomorrow. Set the dining table for four ready to catch up with your loved ones over dinner, followed by a relaxing seat in the sitting area. The bay window frames lovely sea views all the way to Godrevy Lighthouse; simply enjoy the view or select a film on Netflix. Completing the first floor is a contemporary bathroom with a bath, shower over, and heated towel rail, along with the first of two bedrooms, a beautifully appointed twin with plenty of storage space. Head up to the second floor where you'll find a spacious king-size with storage, Smart TV with Netflix, a balcony to catch the sunrise in the mornings, and an en-suite shower room for extra privacy. When it's time to venture out, Carbis Bay has plenty of shops and eateries to choose from such as La Casita for Spanish delicacies, The Bean Inn for vegetarian and vegan dishes, and the Carbis Bay Hotel Beach Club Restaurant to dine right on the beach. Carbis Bay Beach is a popular spot for watersports, sunbathing in the golden sands, and is idyllically tucked into a cove for plenty of shelter. Head further along the coast to the Bohemian town of St Ives where the Barbara Hepworth Museum, Tate St Ives, and cobbled streets lined with independent shops are sure to please, whilst surfers and swimmers will love the town's sandy beaches, or perhaps you'd prefer a coastal trek along the cliffs? The port town of Hayle is also close by with plenty for the whole family to enjoy, including Paradise Park and JungleBarn Cornwall and Hayle's unspoilt sandy beach, or find more rock pools to explore and waves to surf at Upton Towans Beach. Be sure to wander the coastal path to Godrevy Point, look out for wildlife along the cliffs of Godrevy nature reserve, and see the 19th-century Lighthouse! Further afield, you'll find Marazion, home to the unique St Michael's Mount, and the bustling town of Penzance with plenty to see along its picturesque promenade. Book your next family holiday in Cornwall at Samphire for a memorable escape by the sea.

Just a short drive from iconic St Ives, the seaside village of Carbis Bay is best-known for its beautiful stretch of pure white sand. With turquoise waters and sheltered conditions, the beach feels almost subtropical and is the perfect spot for a good old-fashioned day by the sea. The beach is also home to the Ocean Sports Centre, so if sunbathing is not really your thing, why not hire a kayak or SUP and get out on the water instead. Or why not treat yourself to a Spa day at the delightful hotel which overlooks the beach and has a fabulous terrace where cocktails can be enjoyed in the Cornish sunshine? Carbis Bay has a small range of local shops and restaurants as well as a fish & chip takeaway and railway branch line. The train journey from Carbis Bay into St Ives is perhaps one of the most beautiful in the country; St Ives additionally makes for a great day out, with plenty of galleries to explore. The quayside town of Hayle also isn't far and is home to activities for the all the family, including a golf and a wildlife sanctuary. The Godrevy Nature Reserve and Penwith Heritage Coast are also within easy reach from Carbis Bay, providing outdoors and watersports plans with even more activities to partake in, including coasteering and birdwatching. I measured my car and found it was fine to go into the area described however I expected enough room to facilitate a U turn as I’d checked on Google Earth. I did not expect to be confronted with 5 x wheelie bins, an industrial wheelie bin, old pallets, old garden furniture, discarded junk, tv, old smoothing iron, etc. It made turning impossible and reversing out was, to say the least, challenging. I resorted to on street parking where I could find a space. I’m afraid this impacted upon my entire holiday experience. This property is extremely well equipped but the back yard is atrocious.

The facilities were great. The description was accurate though some really positives were left out - no mention eg of a dishwasher, Electric blinds not mentioned either in description and we almost didn’t book the apartment because I was concerned there’d be no privacy or screen from the sub etc. As it turned out the blinds were one of the best features. There was a really nice welcome pack in a lovely blue hessian bag and though I wouldn’t book a holiday apt because of a welcome pack it wasn’t mentioned either in description. Personally I love the minimal clean style but a couple of chairs in the main bedroom would be nice as well a chest of drawer in small bedroom. The apartment was perfect for our stay. The walk to Carbis Bay beach was short and lovely. Yes St Ives Road is busy but the description did warn of some traffic noise. We love Carbis Bay beach and now find it nicer than St Ives which has become very busy and almost a victim of its own success. We’ve been to St ives many times and driven through Carbis Bay but never actually stopped. In future Carbis Bay will be our destination. The Uno restaurant was a real gem and Carbis Bay hotel is very nice with the deli a great place to have lunch. The Sandy beach is perfect for families and swimming as it’s quite sheltered compared to other nearby beaches we visited. The whole Carbis Bay area is very clean and well kept so a real pleasure to spend a week here. Thank you
