About this property

Merlin’s View is a well-presented, semi-detached holiday home in a peaceful residential location at the top of Port Isaac, North Cornwall. This light and bright cottage sleeps five guests and boasts beautiful sea views, perfect for a family holiday to the Cornish seaside.

Enter on the ground floor via a handy porch, leading into a spacious, open-plan living area complete with a well-equipped kitchen for cooking family feasts, providing a perfect place to kick back and relax together as a group after a busy day immersing yourself in Cornwall’s rugged beauty. The spacious dining area seats eight guests around a family table, and there’s a separate small sofa - a relaxed and sociable setting for loved ones, looking to enjoy a quiet moment.

For a snug ambience, the sitting room boasts plush sofas, a woodburning stove and coastal vistas through the adjacent conservatory, as well as characterful features such as a porthole window. The sea facing glass conservatory is a highlight of the property and a very special place to enjoy your morning coffee whilst nestled in the comfortable rattan furniture – and with a telescope to have a closer glimpse at the ocean, you won’t miss any of the action out on the horizon.

Affording you some much needed rest, the first floor is home to three well-appointed bedrooms and a modern family bathroom. The master bedroom boasts a double bed and sea views, whilst a second double provides a calming oasis for two, and a further single bedroom also benefits from a coastal view.

An elevated decking stands proud above a lawned garden – the perfect place to spot ships and enjoy a delicious alfresco cream tea to the musical backdrop of sea waves.

Walk down to the harbour to see the historic ‘Platt’, the place where it all started for the famous sea shanty group, Fisherman’s Friends. Port Isaac is charming and has a deep-rooted seaside heritage – the characterful 18th century pub local pub is even home to an old smugglers tunnel! For a day out with the family, Polzeath (6.5 miles) boasts a stunning Blue Flag awarded sandy beach with seasonal lifeguard cover – buckets, spades and body boards at the ready.

Merlin’s View is a wonderful holiday home in Port Isaac that provides something special for all the family – a fantastic location, plush furnishings and beautiful vistas.

Port Isaac; one of the true Cornish treasures. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century. An abundance of small character properties complemented by larger cliff-top retreats, can be found with easy access to the numerous restaurants and shops of the village. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. Only ten minutes drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike. There is ample parking at the top of the village.

The position is ideal with the bonus of the parking. The view and conservatory are amazing. We had a great time and hope to go back soon.

Its just looking tired in places, the bathroom in particular. With a little investment the property would tick all the boxes.

The property is spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting in the conservatory at night. Breakfast on the decking was lovely too. The sofa and the bed I slept in ate very soft. But generally a great property and would happily return
