About this property

Porthtowan 1.6 mile, Portreath 2 mile. This wonderful lodge is located in the hamlet of Cambrose, which is tucked between the stunning beaches of Porthtowan and Portreath. Lazy Lodge, as mentioned in Cornwall Living Magazine provides a relaxing and secluded environment while still being conveniently positioned to take advantage of all that the North Cornwall Coast has to offer. This lovely lodge, which has two bedrooms and sleeps four people, welcomes couples, families, and friends to unwind in its wood-fired hot tub, huge private garden, off-road parking, and lockable bike storage. Lazy Lodge is tucked away in an acre of private grounds, surrounded by nature, adjacent streams, and a huge pond; you'll be able to relax on your private patio or stroll through the garden, and perhaps a leisurely game of pre-dinner boules or Garden Quoits will determine who does the cooking? It's a wonderful location to unwind with a tranquil seat overlooking the pond, read a nice book on the lawn, or stargaze while listening to music in the eco-friendly hot tub. Inside, there's an open-plan living room with a well-equipped kitchen that contains a gas oven, grill, and hob for cooking at home. The charming sitting area features a flame effect fire, a wall-mounted Smart TV, a Bluetooth speaker, and a range of traditional board games; it's the perfect spot for hunkering down on those chilly nights. Freshen up before bed in the family bathroom with a bath, shower over, and heated towel rail for added comfort. The spacious double room has an en-suite cloakroom, while the cosy twin room is perfect for two little children. When it's time to go exploring, Lazy Lodge is a great place to start; within 2 miles, you can visit either the award-winning Blue Flag beach of Porthtowan or the popular sands and fishing village of Portreath. Don't forget your push bikes, because the lovely Coast to Coast Cycle Trail is right outside the gate at Lazy Lodge! A nine-mile ride south will take you to Deveron, or you can cycle or walk the two-mile traffic-free route from the Lodge to Portreath, where you'll find lots of lunchtime delicacies. If taking a walk around the golf course is more your cup of tee, there are three courses within 3 miles. Tehidy Woods is West Cornwall's greatest area of tranquil woodland and lakes, and it's only a short drive away. Alternatively, go for a beautiful coastal walk to see impressive ruins on heather and gorse-covered cliffs. You could even recognise some of the filming locations from Poldark! Take a break from the cooking by taking a mile walk to the Cornwall Gold and Tolgus Mill heritage site, where you can have a traditional Cornish breakfast served on a miner's shovel. Close by on Porthtowan Beach is the Blue Beach Bar & Restaurant, which is situated on the dunes, or for a true holiday feel, drive along the beach and watch the sun set with Seasmiths wonderful fish and chips. The surrounding welcoming communities of Portreath and Porthtowan provide a wide range of dining, take-out, and shopping options. For a change of pace, the Royal Cornwall Museum, Truro's Gothic Cathedral, and the National Trust's scenic Trelissick Garden estate are all within a short drive of the lodge. To the north, the St. Agnes Heritage Coast offers stunning bays, historic sites, and beautiful beaches, while to the south, Hayle, Carbis Bay, and St Ives are major tourist destinations. Whatever your holiday plans are, Lazy Lodge will provide you with a quiet and relaxing stay.

Porthtowan is a small village resting on west Cornwall’s beautiful coastline, renowned for its Blue Flag beach, which at low tide exposes almost a mile and a half of fine, golden sands. Porthtowan is part of the St Agnes designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and there are some wonderful walks to be found, offering vivid scenery along the South West Coast Path, whether you choose to head east to St Agnes or west to Portreath. The towns of St Ives and Penzance, with their art galleries, restaurants and quaint harbours, are half an hour’s drive away, whilst Flambards Theme Park, The Cornish Seal Sanctuary in Gweek, and the Goonhilly Satellite Earth Station are just a few of the other diverse attractions scattered around this picturesque region.
