. much better than expected after reading recent reviews, a real home from home. Extremely modern and comfortable. All bedding, towels and kitchen equipment high end. Enjoyed the short walk down to St Ives and Porthminster beach and didn’t mind the walk back up the hill. Really looking forward to returning.

There are a few things letting it down.. As advised by multiple people in previous reviews- this place needs coat hooks or a coat stand and shoe tray in the hallway. Hanging your wet coats in the lounge or a wardrobe shouldn’t be the only option. Neither of the bathroom extractor fans worked. The underfloor heating didn’t work in the main bedroom or lounge (it’s VERY hot in the bathrooms though) There was a strange smell in the lounge/kitchen area, for the whole week. We had a small window open in the lounge for the whole stay and had to buy a scented candle also. I checked cupboards, the washing machine, oven and dishwasher - I also pulled the couch out but couldn’t locate what caused the smell? The couch due to being a light colour and I guess also being end of season needs a hyper clean, the arms are seats are showing signs of dirt. Although, yes this is a self catering apartment, I don’t think it unreasonable to expect a scouring. sponge/cloth in the kitchen sink and a pate bin bag?

Great view of the sea from our balcony and the living area. It is an ideal location for using beautiful St Ives as a base, a walk up a steep hill but it wasn’t a problem for us. Great to have a parking space at the apartment too, and nice and peaceful being slightly out of town (about 10 mins walk, and also from the train station if you want to explore without taking the car). Lovely spacious apartment, kitchen fully equipped with everything you need. The en suite is on the small side but does the job……and the shower is lovely and powerful! We had a problem getting the tumble drier to work, and the radiator in the bathroom didn’t work, so some maintenance checks before guests arrive would be beneficial. To make it even better I’d suggest some coat hooks in the hallway for coats, and also perhaps a shoe rack for sandy shoes and trainers rather than leave them cluttering up the hallway floor. I’d recommend this property if you’re looking for a great stay in St Ives.
