About this property

This beautifully styled Cornish home is one of a handful of traditional stone buildings that pepper Mousehole’s quaint streets; and is the perfect family retreat for a coastal getaway to one of Cornwall’s prettiest harbour villages. Retaining many of its original features, Sunrise has been delightfully refurbished into a contemporary space that feels tastefully modern yet comfortable and welcoming, with two bedrooms and the open plan living space perfectly suited to four guests.

Cooking in the modern kitchen is a laid-back affair where a range of utensils, appliances and cookware make whipping up humble home creations a breeze, and the room’s dining table invites board games over breakfast or hours of evening chatter to discuss the past days’ adventures or the following day’s plans. The two lovely bedrooms provide a layout that works very well for families with children, where parents can retreat to their comfy king size bed and the kids have their own singles; and a super walk-in double shower featured in the family bathroom makes de-sanding after the beach a cinch.

Mousehole’s pretty harbour and narrow streets are lined with original dwellings and small shops, giving it a lovely atmosphere of days gone by, with far-reaching sea views forming an extraordinary backdrop to the village. Nearby along the coast, are a treasure of hidden coves to be discovered, the most popular being that of Lamorna, and the market town of Penzance and the South West’s largest fishing port at Newlyn are both within a short drive from the cottage.

Outside

At the rear of the property, accessed by the alley to the side is a communal area. It is mainly used to access the properties at the back, but it does have a picnic bench seating area. This is a good place to store bikes/boards etc.

To the front of the property is a small area with a bench. The harbour / beach is just half a minutes’ walk away, so it’s perfect if you fancy a picnic supper down on the beach (the property provides a basket and plastic crockery/glasses for guests to use)

Parking

There is no allocated parking for this property. Guests can park in the road along The Parade which is free on a first come first service basis and is a short walk from the property.

Additional parking information:

Two Harbour Authority car parks at North or South Quay are available. For more information about North and South Quay car parks from the Harbour Authority’s website, please click here

The Parade Car Park on the outskirts of the village is a privately owned facility so prices are subject to change however current charges (as of 2021) are £9.00 for an overnight stay. Please note that parking here is strictly monitored and even slight overstays are heavily fined. Please bear in mind that on-street parking is scarce as the village’s streets are very narrow.
