One of the prettiest seaside villages in England, Mousehole is a place you just can’t help falling in love with. Quintessentially Cornish, its narrow streets wind past traditional stone cottages that compass an attractive (and much-photographed) little harbour. Flower boxes, sash windows, painted doors, and a peppering of small shops, picture galleries and eateries lend the village a romantic charm and make it ideal as a couples’ hideaway.
Tucked away in the heart of the village, Sunny Corner apartment is as charming as Mousehole itself. Just a short stroll from the harbour its beautiful interior boasts exposed stone, chunky reveals and timber lintels; all original features that nod to its past life as a humble fisherman’s dwelling. The home’s high apex ceilings with trusses and roof lights create a bright and spacious atmosphere which is complimented by elegant furnishings and a calming colour palette of soft greys and neutrals.
A comfy sofa and armchair in the living room invite guests to cosy up in front of the wood burner, while a window bench is a lovely spot for catching up on a favourite holiday read. The room extends to the other side of the property where a small sun lounge opens out to the private balcony. Here you’ll be able to savour a morning coffee in the sunshine or enjoy a quiet drink as the evening sets in. There’s a bijou kitchen/diner off the living room which is a perfectly proportioned and equipped for preparing and sharing home cooked meals, and a sumptuous master bedroom with en-suite tempts deeply comfortable nights of sleep after days spent out exploring the local area.
Just three miles from Penzance and with easy access to the South West Coast Path, Sunny Corner is an ideal bolthole for couples looking to experience this magical slice of West Cornwall for themselves. You can read more about the village of Mousehole, its beaches and attractions by clicking here
