The lodge has a double and two twin bedrooms, so when the sky darkens over the park, you can head back inside to shower up before drifting off to sleep. Sun Haven Holiday Park boasts an unrivalled setting near both an award-winning beach and miles of trails through Cornwall's beautiful forests. The Eden Project, with its replicas of tropical ecosystems, and the Japanese Gardens, a picturesque garden inspired by the Far East, are both easily accessible from the park. If you'd prefer to spend the day at the beach, Newquay is not far away and boasts some of the most stunning beaches in the world, such as Fistral, Towan, and Bedruthan and a whole host of seaside activities for the whole family. Keen hikers or ramblers can take advantage of the beautiful trails that run through and around the park. One such trail begins at the park's base and crosses a small stream to lead to a wonderful, wooded walk that follows the winding River Menalhyl all the way to the dog-friendly shores of Mawgan Porth. Located between Newquay and Padstow on the beautiful north Cornish coast, Mawgan Porth is a small, protected cove. You can surf, swim, and explore the nearby caves and coastal trails on the beach's golden sand. Take advantage of the warm weather and head to the coast this summer, whether it's to try surfing for the first time or just to take a leisurely stroll along the cliffs and watch the waves crash below. Among the many fantastic restaurants in close proximity to Mawgan Porth are Paul Ainsworth's No. 6 and Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant. A public spa is available to guests at the Scarlet Hotel, which is an adults-only facility. Mawgan Porth features a few shops, including a village store and deli and a farm shop selling meat, eggs, vegetables, bread, and pasties made from local ingredients, as well as tennis courts, a pitch and putt, and an 18-hole golf course with ocean views.
