In just a short drive you can be in Newquay, where you can rub wetsuits with surfers on Fistral Beach, Towan Beach, and the Bedruthan Steps, among others. If you'd rather stay on dry land, The Eden Project's tropical biomes make for a beautiful day trip from Sun Haven Holiday Park. Mawgan Porth is a sheltered cove located between Newquay and Padstow on the stunning north Cornish coast, and it features a golden sand beach, excellent surf, and a coastal footpath with numerous caves to explore. Soak up the summer sun, master the art of wave riding, or take a leisurely stroll along the cliffs while keeping an eye on the raging waters below. Nearby Mawgan Porth is a plethora of high-end dining options, including Paul Ainsworth's No. 6 and Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant, and the fabulous adults-only Scarlet Hotel, which offers Spa treatments and facilities to non-residents. Tennis courts, a pitch and putt, and an 18-hole golf course with Atlantic views can all be found in Mawgan Porth, as can a deli and a farm shop selling meat, eggs, vegetables, bread, and pasties from local farms.
