Blake Lodge, a pleasing single-storey annex nestled in the village of Crantock, in Cornwall. Perfect for couples or a solo traveller, this abode features an enclosed garden, an open-plan living space and is near the beach, shop and pubs. Park the car and make your way to your temporary coastal home. Upon entering, slip off your shoes and make yourself at home in the welcoming open-plan living space. The kitchen is equipped to whip up something tasty for your loved one, a quick bite to or a cuppa. Why not crack open the patio doors and dine alfresco as you discuss the itinerary? After your plates are cleared, plans cemented, and the stars appear overhead, head back inside to the lounge area.
Pick a spot on the sofa and flick on the TV for a cosy movie night. When your eyes become tired, freshen up in the shower room before retreating to the bedroom. The bedroom has a wardrobe to store any belongings during your stay, and is furnished with relaxing hues, sink into the sheets and rejuvenate for the night. In the morning, sip a brew in the enclosed garden to the sound of birdsong. There is storage in the garden, perfect for keeping any equipment to enhance your stay and includes a couple of portable chairs & a wind break for your use.
The local shop and 2 pubs are just a short walk away, and the beach is easily reached on foot via a path linking St Carantoc Way to Gustory Road, offering the best of village life and coastal charm. In the Summer months, there’s also a café to indulge yourself with a sumptuous breakfast or mid-morning coffee & cake, it then transforms into a pizzeria in the evening! Blake Lodge is a lovely base for exploring the beauty of Cornwall. The surroundings enjoy scenic countryside and coastal charm, where you can stroll to Crantock Beach for paddling in the shallows, sunbathing on golden sands, walking among the dunes or indulging in a Cornish pasty or ice cream as the sun dips below the horizon.
Treat your loved one to a meal out at Old Albion Inn or The Cornishman, offering hearty pub classics in a relaxed setting, or head to The Bowgie Inn for sea views and a varied menu of local favourites. Make the most of your location by discovering the history within Trerice, a 16th-century manor house where you can wander through rooms filled with period furnishings, dress up in Tudor or Elizabethan attire, and admire the blooms in the formal gardens. There are plenty of other beaches to explore and stunning vistas to uncover—take a drive to St. Agnes Heritage Coast for dramatic cliff walks and wildlife spotting.
Further afield, the Eden Project invites you into vast biomes filled with tropical and Mediterranean worlds, interactive exhibits for all ages, and vibrant outdoor gardens. Padstow offers a lively harbour scene, fresh seafood and boutique shops, while the Camel Trail provides a scenic route for walkers and cyclists. The Lost Gardens of Heligan promise a magical escape with jungle boardwalks, ancient woodland and beautifully restored Victorian gardens. Or if relaxing over a glass of wine is more your style, treat yourself to a tasting at one of the award winning wineries in Cornwall, producing excellent sparkling wine, refreshing whites and sumptuous reds!
For golfers there’s plenty of choice with 5 golf courses within a 10 mile drive of Blake Lodge, or if you enjoy a walk without the clubs, head for the South West coast path! Note: This property can be booked with ref. 1177383, together sleeping 8 guests.
