Hidden in a secluded valley yet just four miles from the historic town of Lostwithiel, this beautifully reimagined eighteenth-century manor house offers a setting of rare charm and grandeur. Behind its handsome Georgian façade, bold colours and rich textures unfold across lavishly designed interiors by Sarah Fortescue, where nature-inspired wallpapers and elegant furnishings echo the beauty of the estate’s gardens.
Sleeping up to fourteen guests across seven luxurious en-suite bedrooms, Lostwithiel Stewardry is as vibrant as it is refined. Each bedroom boasts its own distinctive palette, plush fabrics and crisp cotton bedding, while the bathrooms are appointed with modern fittings, organic toiletries and soft white robes. The living spaces are equally impressive. Expansive, light-filled and effortlessly stylish, they flow from one to the next, with a large drawing room centred around a roaring fireplace, window seats overlooking the gardens and smaller nooks perfect for quiet reading or conversation. A striking kitchen, with its deep blue cabinetry, warm wood accents and large island, opens onto an elegant dining room with a circular table that invites long, lingering meals.
Throughout the house, thoughtful touches such as Sonos speakers, board games and table tennis ensure a stay that feels both luxurious and welcoming. Outside, the delights of the estate await. Guests can stroll through subtropical gardens, explore the deer park, or enjoy lakeside barbecues as the sun sets behind the trees. A fire pit and outdoor kitchen create an idyllic setting for evenings under the stars. Children can run wild in the mud kitchen or let their imaginations roam in the creative craft space, while dogs will love the miles of woodland trails and off-lead areas.

What an amazing few days – a truly magical place for adults and children alike. The kitchen garden, the summer house, the birds and especially the barn owl, and of course the deer looking majestic. The house is so beautifully decorated and the beds are the most comfortable. The children loved exploring the grounds and learning about the flora and fauna and going on mini adventures. A truly special stay, thank you.

We had the most wonderful time. The estate has to be one of the most peaceful and relaxing places in the world! From the resident barn owl, to the endless trees and wilderness. The tennis court surroundings are second to none! We loved exploring the coast line too, and have become huge fans of the fantastic Lantic Bay. The house is so comfortable and the interiors make it such a luxury stay. The house is also fantastic for little children too, who loved the large garden and selection of toys in the house. Thank you, we cannot wait to come back!
