Lanivet is a quaint Cornish town situated between Bodmin and Roche. There are a few conveniences available in the village, such as the friendly Lanivet Inn, a fish and chip takeout joint called Welcome Stranger, and a general store. You can find places to eat like Viraj and Mansons Arms and pubs like The Jolly Hangman and convenience stores and supermarkets in Bodmin, where you can also find a broader variety of services and attractions. Bodmin Jail, Bodmin Keep, Bodmin Town Museum, and the neighbouring Lnhydrock National Trust site are just a few of the attractions in town. Visit the Fowey Aqurium, Readymoney Cove, St. Catherine's Castle, and the Fowey Estuary, a National Trust property, in Fowey, which is located further distant.

The hot tub was well used throughout the week. If you are s gym goer the on-site gym is very good and swimming pool looks like it will be lovely, but this was not open. The location is amazing for reaching the south and north coast beaches - 20 minutes south snd between 25 - 30 minutes north. Bodmin is 10 minutes away snd full of supermarket options. The maintenance team had to fix a sofa leg, bedroom blinds, chair and unopenable door on day two, but they responded quickly. The kitchen needs some more baking dishes for the oven or at-least a wider selection. This bit below I would not like published, but it is essential the owner knows and has the chance to respond. It was reported during the holiday and I have photos of the burns: One downside was that I really badly burnt myself twice on the towel rail in the en-suite bathroom. This has resulted in burning through the skin and bleeding. It looks like it will be scabbed and painful for some time, definitely resulting in scarring. I told reception, but they just wanted an accident form completed. A maintenance man did come, but it was an inconvenient time and they didnât come back.

The table is broken and doesn't sit 14 as per picture. Extending table doesn't extend as its broken so if like us you all wanted to sit at the table you couldn't. One of the three sofa's the legs were broken so again you couldn't use it. Shower broken in one of the bedrooms, which was not a major issue as there are enough other showers. Drain outside the front door was blocked again not a major issue as we could access from the other end of the building was just a pain as you had to go up and down the stairs and landing. When we booked, we did so on the understanding we could use the onsite pool and facilities these were all closed which was a disappointment for the children and I feel we should have been made aware so as to avoid disappointment on arrival.

The staff were friendly and helpful and responded quickly to the problems we had with the heating, hot tub and hot water. We felt the house needed some improvements though, such as more and better lighting, some new windows (fittings loose and unworkable due to rot) and an unattached wall fitting which was potentially dangerous. An instruction/welcome booklet would have been useful. Potentially this could be a fantastic place.
