About this property

Set in the quiet village of Pelynt, Cornwall lies Shoemakers Cottage, a charming cottage oozing with character features. Perfect for friends and family alike, this dwelling offers a rear garden and a toasty woodburning stove, while being close to local amenities and within easy reach of the popular fishing port town of Looe. Stepping into the property, the open-plan living and dining room welcomes you into this characterful property, boasting an exposed stone wall, white beams, and a distinctive stone-built fireplace you can look forward to snuggling up in front of after a day of discovering your surroundings. Sink into the plush sofa with your loved ones and flick on the TV while the woodburning stove creates a gentle warmth around you. From here, enjoy your meals as a family at the dining table while you plan the day's activities as a family. Moving through the property, the chef of the group can take advantage of the kitchen and its appliances, where you can whip up delicious meals throughout your stay using fresh local produce from this wonderful coast and country area. When sleep calls, venture to the bedrooms to rest your head before another day of exploring the local area; the ground floor is home to a twin bedroom, complete with storage for your belongings. Climb the stairs to the remaining two bedrooms, both home to double beds, a neutral décor and wooden chests of drawers fitting with the bright but traditional theme of the cottage. Completing the interior of the property is a bathroom, fit with a bath you can soak your muscles in after an adventurous day out while indulging in a good book, as well as a shower over, a basin and WC. Outside, there is a garden with a gravelled area where you four-legged friends can run and stretch while you savour a glass of wine in the last of the summer sun. The village of Pelynt is surrounded by beautiful countryside and is home to the Jubilee Inn, a traditional inn offering meals and refreshments within walking distance from the cottage. Venture out to the nearby town of Looe, here you will find an abundance of shops, pubs, restaurants, and cafés to tide you over while you soak up the magnificent sea views. There are a wealth of attractions within easy reach such as the Polperro Model Village, resting less than four miles from the property; the model village is popular amongst tourists and well worth a visit one afternoon. Brush up on your history while in Polperro by spending some time at the Polperro Heritage Museum of Smuggling and Fishing where you can discover the harbour’s fascinating history set inside an old pilchard factory. Energetic members of the group will enjoy Pelynt and the St West Looe Valley, a circular walk through stunning woodland and greenery leading you to St Nonna's Well. Branching further afield a scenic car journey will take you into Liskeard, where you will find an abundance of walking and cycling routes along the Looe Valley Line, and be sure to visit the gorgeous Golitha Falls and Carnglaze Caverns for a unique experience amongst Cornwall's fine nature. Perfect any time of year, make Shoemakers Cottage your base for a fabulous family holiday to Cornwall.

Pelynt is a charming Cornish village resting just four miles from the fishing port town of Looe. Deriving its name from the Cornish work 'pluw' meaning parish, the village is surrounded by glorious countryside and is home to just enough amenities for a tranquil trip to Cornwall, while nearby towns and villages such as the pretty village of Polperro, provide further attractions and amenities. Pelynt hosts a convenience store and a pub, the Jubilee Inn, while a short drive into Looe provides you with plenty of shops, cafés and restaurants if you are looking for some lively scenery throughout your stay.
