Nanparra Cottage is a well-received holiday rental in Cornwall, praised for its cleanliness, comfortable furnishings, and well-equipped kitchen. Its location is appreciated for peacefulness and proximity to beaches and local amenities, though a car is recommended. Guests enjoy the cosy atmosphere and the convenience of being on a bus route. Some noted the need for modernisation and clearer directions.
Guests consistently describe the cottage as clean and tidy, with high-quality towels and bedding. The presence of a musty smell in some reviews slightly affects the score.
The location is generally praised for its tranquillity and proximity to beaches and local attractions. However, some guests mentioned the need for a car and the inconvenience of roadworks, which slightly lowers the score.
The cottage is often described as comfortable and cosy, with a warm atmosphere. However, several guests mentioned hard mattresses and issues with heating control, which impacts the comfort score.
Facilities are well-regarded, especially the well-stocked kitchen. However, comments about outdated decor, the need for better lighting, and a lack of control over heating suggest room for improvement in maintenance.
While some guests appreciated the well-equipped kitchen and the provision of essentials, there is no consistent mention of welcome gifts or additional thoughtful touches, and therefore a score cannot be provided.
This traditional cottage is less than a mile from the coast close to the seaside town of Falmouth. In a rural village setting near the Helford Estuary, this character property is ideal for families, friends and couples seeking a homely retreat. The front door opens directly into the living room with exposed beams, a generous stone hearth with a mock stove and dining area. Just two steps into the kitchen that has all you need to rustle up a bite to eat and the two bedrooms are country casual. At the front is a pretty paved, slightly elevated enclosed patio, a sunspot with countryside views for dining in the Cornish air. The village offers walk-to amenities to include a shop for provisions, village pub and restaurant. Fabulous Falmouth with deep water harbour, National Maritime Museum, Pendennis Castle and quirky gift shops, art galleries and eateries is four miles away. From the harbour, enjoy Rick Stein's Fish & Chips before boarding the ferry to picturesque Flushing, St Mawes or Truro, or take a fishing excursion or seal safari. The sandy beaches of Swanpool and Gyllyngvase boast good cafes for waterside refreshment. The florally scenic National Trust Gardens at Glendurgan, Trebah and Carwinion are within easy reach of Nanparra Cottage.
Or enjoy a round of golf or don walking boots and ramble the coast path through ancient woodland. Hire a kayak or boat and discover secret creeks and tiny coves on the banks of the River Helford, with a picnic basket or pasty. Reward your efforts with a pub lunch in one of the waterside inns at Helford Passage or Helford Village, linked via the passenger ferry. A superb spot for discovering the delights around Falmouth, Nanparra Cottage makes a comfy haven.
Falmouth, with its magnificent natural harbour (the third largest in the world), winding streets and beaches, will keep you occupied for hours.
