About this property

Located within the Tamar Valley Resort this reverse-living lodge sits with similar styled lodges in the small town of Callington, South East Cornwall. With all the on-site facilities, this is a great choice for a family fun holiday. There are three lovely bedrooms on the ground floor with the master bedroom leading out to a private patio area, perfect for that early morning coffee. Upstairs the open plan living area has plenty of space for the family to enjoy meals and socialising together. Open the doors and step onto the balcony from here and just breathe! The on-site facilities are well equipped for the whole family to enjoy, take your choice of either the indoor or outdoor heated pools and the children will love the outdoor play area. For the energetic there are tennis courts and for those who wish to leave the cooking at home, stroll along to the bar for your evening meal. During the school holidays there is a busy programme of entertainment including quiz nights and karaoke and sporting activities (seasonal, subject to availability, extra charges apply) such as archery, rock climbing and canoeing. Tamar Valley Resort is a scenic haven with lovely walks and this villa-style lodge is well placed to explore both Cornwall and Devon with some great local attractions nearby. For those that wish to tour the area, the National Trust property Cotehele, a Tudor house and valley garden estate set above the River Tamar, is just a short drive away, or ramblers will love exploring the historic sites and monuments on the National Parks of Dartmoor or Bodmin Moor. For shopping lovers, a trip to Plymouth is ideal, rich with maritime heritage and an aquarium, there is plenty of choice for everyone. This is a great choice of holiday whether you wish to relax and enjoy the on-site facilities or if you want to explore this lovely part of Cornwall.

Callington is set in the heart of the Tamar Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. As well as being the home of Ginsters Cornish pasties Callington offers a good selection of restaurants and pubs. Callington is a Cornish market town, rich in mining heritage and overlooked by Kit Hill, the highest point in the area, donated to the people of Cornwall by Prince Charles to celebrate the birth of Prince William. From the top of Kit Hill there are amazing views across south-east Cornwall as far as Plymouth Sound.

Their favourite part of each day was the swimming, they also liked the idea of being able to use the games room, but unfortunately this was very tired and needed an overall. Our lodge was lovely, very clean and comfortable, nice and warm. Everything one would need for a holiday stay was there for our use. This stay not only allowed us to use the pool and the pub ( whose food was lovely and the staff were very welcoming ) it was also situated very nicely for us to explore Cornwall.

The whole site is very well kept. The communication about my stay was very good, clear and easy to understand. The on-site facilities were very good, the swimming pool was warm and a good size. Very warm and welcoming at the reception, restaurant/pub and swimming pool. I will definitely be coming back. Very happy with everything about my stay.

Pool / gym membership and wifi was included in the price. Even the TV had extra channels for free. The food at the bar was nice and the bar closed reasonably early so there wasn’t any noisy behaviour late into the night. We booked just before the English schools broke up so it was still relatively quiet. This was our 3rd holiday in Cornwall and the best place we’ve stayed in so far for price, accommodation, friendliness and facilities. 10 / 10.
