About this property

Just a couple of miles distant from the coastal paths and beaches of some of North Cornwall’s prettiest spots, Jasmine Cottage provides a characterful, bohemian home with tasteful décor, stylish furniture and plenty of outdoor space to relax and unwind in for up to eight guests.

Exposed whitewashed brick walls and a quirky spiral staircase give the beautiful lounge and dining area an abundance of character whilst maintaining a calming, serene colour palette. Curl up with a book by the window seat or hang in a hammock chair with a glass of fizz with the crackle of the wood burner in the background. The dining area also benefits from the double-sided fireplace allowing guests to enjoy a cosy, intimate dinner in the open-plan kitchen diner.

The kitchen is adorned with individual touches from scalloped tiles, vaulted ceilings and double sliding doors leading to the garden area. There is a slimline dishwasher, a Nespresso machine and all the utensils and dinnerware you need to create delicious family meals.

On the ground floor, two delightful king-size rooms, one with en-suite, are decorated with individual flair, including a four-poster bed, characterful wallpaper and soft headboards and hotel-grade linens. Up the winding staircase is a mezzanine level bedroom with two double beds, perfect for older kids to make the space their own, whilst younger kids (up to 8-9 years) will adore the marine-themed bunk room with ship-style bunk beds. Lovely bathrooms include freestanding baths, bespoke basins and walk-in showers, all newly renovated and tasteful to boot.

At the front of the property, you can relax on a fantastic terrace area with egg-style hanging chairs, tables and chairs to seat six and a fun slide for kids to enjoy. This is a wonderful place to enjoy the coastal breeze over a morning coffee or take in the sun with a glass of local ale in the late afternoon. For an outdoor dip, there is a bathtub available with hot and cold water taps to enjoy a little bath under the stars.

Set in the quiet village of Stratton, this delightful cottage is tucked away from the busy tourism of Devon in a peaceful location whilst benefiting from easy access to the coast, sights, shops and restaurants that make Devon special.

Just five minutes from the centre of Bude is the large sandy shore of Summerleaze Beach. With rock pools to explore, rolling dunes and deck chairs available to hire, it’s easy to spend most of your holiday here sunbathing, “sand-castling”, and body boarding! Keen surfers will also want to pay a visit to Widemouth Bay, three miles south of Bude, which is known for its lovely beach and reputation for some of the best waves in Cornwall!

Half an hour down the coast is the magical Tintagel Castle, built into the craggy rocks and with a head spinningly high bridge to cross to access the ruins. It is a striking sight to behold and one not to be missed. Head down to the beach below to explore Merlin’s Cave and revel in the area’s links with King Arthur and the Knights of The Round Table.

Set in the convenient position between Cornwall and Devon, the house is within an hour’s drive from many of the main Cornish attractions. On the North coast, a visit to the bustling seaside town of Padstow has so much to offer. Try crabbing in the harbour, grab yourself a local pasty for lunch or take a boat trip over to nearby Rock. We recommend visiting the fascinating National Lobster Hatchery to observe the lifecycle of marine lobsters run by local experts. Padstow is also home to several delicious Rick Stein eateries, from grab-and-go fish and chips to the flagship Seafood Restaurant serving a selection of fresh from the ocean dishes from scallops, Moules, lobster and more.

A little further afield, you will find The Eden Project in St. Austell, great for a day trip and a perfect spot for families where you can walk amongst the dramatic tropical biomes and experience the sights and smells of the rainforest.    There are fascinating displays on climate and sustainability and a large restaurant and gift shop to keep the kids fed and happy!
