Oil central heating (£50 per week October-April), electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Lawned garden with sitting-out area and garden furniture. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. Set in the pretty, rural village of Horton, this holiday cottage forms part of the owner’s home, but has its own entrance, garden area and drive. Horton has a famous tower which was used in the Thomas Hardy film ‘Far From The Madding Crowd’. It is ideally located for enjoying the area from visiting the New Forest National Park, the seaside at Poole and Bournemouth, to enjoying the footpaths, forest walks and country parks which are all nearby. Golf 2 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub ¼ mile and 1 mile.

Beautifully clean and well cared for accommodation set in a lovely tranquil rural area but within a short drive of the many Dorset, Wiltshire and Hampshire attractions. As the property is on one level it is great for those with limited mobility and families alike. The hosts are very respectful, welcoming and knowledgeable about the local area.

Great location- away from the city buzz. Sitting outside in the late evenings and hearing nothing but blissful silence of nature. Owner Fiona very welcoming.Although owners occupy other half of the house, we had our own driveway and don't disturb each other at all.House clean and tidy. Would love to have more than 1 frying pan available and some more cleaning materials- paper towels, sprays, extra toilet paper- away on holidays and not to carry all this with us. Having been to other properties, a suggestion would be a welcome hamper- some collaborations with local businesses, farm shops to help visitors learn about local offers.But overall was a great experience, very calm place to be and relax, great location to easily drive to Poole, New Forest etc. We recommend!

Lovely cottage, lovely owners, lovely dog! We had a great week, very well situated for exploring Dorset and beyond. Also lots of walks/cycles starting from or very near to the cottage (although in the heat it was also lovely just to relax in the garden!).
