The cottage was in a beautiful location - close to lovely pubs, the beach and other nice dog walks. The cottage itself has the potential to be lovely. It is a lovely size and the owner has provided so much in the way of appliances and other little bits (towels, dog treats, lots of kitchen equipment).Unfortunately there were more negatives than positives:- the ceiling in the bathroom is incredibly low and my 6ft2 partner couldn’t use the shower as his head was on the ceiling. There is also not a full size bath so he had difficulty washing in general.- the bedroom sits below a bedroom for the neighbouring property and the noise was ridiculous. We were woken up early hours every morning by people banging across the room.- the washing machine was completely broken and trapped our washing in it for 3 hours. It is also located in a separate shed in the dog walking field. Therefore you only get access to the washing machine when the field isnt in use. There is also a toilet next to the washing machine that is for field users to use.- the oven door is basically hanging off.- the front room wall is joined to the neighbouring bathroom and you can hear people going to the toilet when you are trying to watch tv.- the dog field next to/behind the property is used by friends of the owner which isn’t an issue, but multiple people would slam the gate constantly throughout the day, they would congregate by the kitchen window and talk which took away all privacy. On occasion there were multiple cars in the drive way which left me unable to get the car out.- the sofa had sweets and other food down the side of it from previous guests.- the oven had began rusting on the door and the owner has painted over this with either gloss or enamel paint.- bath tap is broken and difficult to use. When you try and turn the tap on it swivels and almost comes out of placement.- the button on the toilet gets stuck and on multiple occasions the toilet kept filling and nearly overflowed .- the door to the bathroom got jammed as the catch plate is bent. I got stuck in the bathroom on multiple occasions and needed help to get out.- the heating was set too high and we were unable to turn it off which left for uncomfortable night sleeps.- no blind on the bathroom window and no privacy as opening the window sees into the car park.- the field attached to the property has dog poo left in it.- there’s a bee/wasps nest in one of the trees in the back garden which was a nightmare for us (our dog loves flying things).

Very impressed with this property. To us it is decorated to a high standard, was very clean and well equipped with everything you would need. Very dog friendly especially having the use of the enclosed field behind the annex which our dogs loved running around. The only downside for us was the bed which has a really soft mattress which did not help with our back and hip problems. If we were staying in this area again we would definitely stay here and will recommend Downsview cottage as a nice place to stay. A home from home. Thank you.

Our 2 dogs love the run of the paddock which is the added bonus. Will definitely be booking again and have recommended to friends and family The owner Lynn is always on hand if there are any issues and has created a beautiful place to stay 💜
