The location is highly praised for being close to amenities, local supermarkets, restaurants, and a pub, as well as for its easy access to London via train.
The cottage is consistently described as comfortable and cosy, with modern bathroom and kitchen facilities. However, a suggestion for a more secure bannister indicates a slight room for improvement in comfort.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a modern bathroom and kitchen. Some guests noted a quirky sink tap and a desire for a long mirror, indicating minor areas for enhancement.
While guests have mentioned a welcome parcel, as gifts are not guaranteed for every stay, it is not possible to accurately score thoughtfulness based on the available reviews.

Pollard Cottage stands within a pretty square in a conservation area at the forefront of a historic 15th-century church, part of which dates back to Saxon times. This beautifully presented listed Tudor home has been sympathetically modernised whilst retaining its original character and features including beams, inglenook fire surround with wood burner, part wattle and daub walls and a beamed vaulted high ceiling in the kitchen/dining room. The semi-detached property boasts some clever adaptations such as church pews being used as panels to decorate the walls of the landing/reading area. With Elizabethan additions, this lovely period property was originally built as a replica of what is now the village library.
Conveniently located, Pollard Cottage is almost opposite a popular pub/restaurant and just 5 minutes’ walk from the town with a selection of shops and eateries. It is about 7 minutes’ walk to the mainline station with regular trains to London taking just 35 minutes, where there is so much to see and do including Buckingham Palace, The London Eye, Big Ben, The British Museum, Tower Bridge, The London Dungeons, river tours, theatres and much much more! The popular cosmopolitan seaside resort of Brighton can be reached by train or car in under an hour with plenty of seaside attractions, museums, art galleries, The Royal Pavilion and The Lanes.
Lingfield Park Racecourse is close by, and other races such as Epsom and Brighton are also within easy reach. The England London Mormon Temple (Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints) is also based in Lingfield and its extensive gardens are open to the public. Gatwick Airport is about a 25-minute drive, 11 miles, ideal for overseas visitors.
There are many popular places of interest within easy driving distance including Hever Castle and Chartwell, Churchill’s favourite former home. There are many homes and gardens to visit including Standen, Penshurst Place and Wakehurst, along with Chiddingstone Castle and Borde Hill. Also worth visiting are the British Wildlife Centre, Godstone Farm, Staffhurst Wood Nature Reserve and Ashdown Forest. The Spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells is also a short drive away. Other popular attractions for the family include Pooh Corner, a Winnie the Pooh inspired gift shop and tea room. Or why not try the escape rooms at Tulley Farm or enjoy a round of golf at Lingfield or one of the other courses within easy reach. Shop ¼ mile, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

Great stay in a quirky cottage. We would have liked a solid bannister (or if rope to be taut) to make ascent easier. Also a long mirror would be a bonus. As as the check in is late (5pm) a later departure would be helpful, just small issues. Over all a great place to stay and would recommend it.
