Set behind the three central arches, Icomb Cottage occupies pride of place in the courtyard amongst other luxury Cotswold stone cottages, overlooking the croquet lawn. Large open plan style living , with open fire, encourages everyone to get together of an evening or enjoy the warmth of the fire.

The imposing symmetry of the doors and windows called for an equal elegance and sophistication in décor. The focal point within this space is the fine antique pine mantelpiece taken from one of the rooms in the Old Abbey. The furnishings are sumptuous, using fabrics and designs that swathe this cottage in quality.

The kitchen area is defined by the pale terracotta tiles and a centrally placed island unit. The hanging oval wrought iron rack for saucepans and utensils would make any chef keen to cook up a feast.

The master bedroom on the ground floor has a mahogany four poster magnificently dressed. The ensuite bathroom has the added advantage of a power shower over the bath. The fine old marble-topped French washstand in pitch pine was brought over from Normandy and creates a WOW factor.

Stairs leading to the second bedroom where two single four-posters are dressed in a blue and white Provencal print. The ensuite wet room with its power shower, is tiled extensively in marble.

The large, private terrace, overlooking the walled garden, can be accessed from the French doors at ground level and a few steps, offers any guest a chance to reflect on the day’s events. Rose and Clematis covered trellises on both sides of the terrace, combine with beds full of viburnums, roses, phlox and lilies to give privacy for al fresco dining.

The furniture and interior design throughout has been carefully chosen for its style and elegance to give any guest the feeling that they never want to leave.
