About Chestnuts B&B

Offering a warm welcome, Chestnuts is a cosy B&B in the Higham area near Rochester with two guest rooms - a double and a twin.  Competitive nightly rates include breakfast, and off road parking is available to all guests located near accommodation.  Modern facilities include free WiFi, and we're a non-smoking establishment throughout for your comfort. 

Chestnuts sits in the heart of the Medway's Charles Dickens Country, just a stone's throw from Rochester Castle and the brand new Gravesend BMX Cyclopark.  Attractions including Bluewater Shopping Centre, Charles Dickens Festivals in Rochester, The Historic Dockyard Chatham and Dickens World are all within easy reach.  

Rooms & Rates

We have two ground floor rooms - a double and a twin, in an annex area located only a few feet from the main house where we serve breakfast.  Guide price for both rooms per night is £65 inclusive of breakfast.  Long and short stays are warmly welcomed.

Rooms include:- Lavender - Twin - ideal for single or two person occupancy. Honeysuckle - Double Room

An extra bed in rooms can be arranged on request, for a small extra fee of £5 for children up to 12 years, and £10 for children aged 13 to 16 years.

Check in from 2pm and check-out by 10am.

Breakfast

A Full English breakfast, locally sourced where possible, is included in booking and features our great homemade jams.  Breakfast is served daily in the dining room (100ft from rooms) from 7am to 9.30am.  Vegetarian breakfast is happily provided, accompanied by coffee, a choice of teas, cereals, fruit and juices.  Please do just let us know if you have any special dietary requirements.

Location & Directions

Chestnuts is surrounded by 50 acres of woodland, and there are some wonderful walks direct from our door.

Reaching us is easy, from the M2 North, exit at Junction 1, onto the A289 towards Grain.  Take the first exit to Gravesend and Rochester.  At the roundabout on the A226 take the first exit to Gravesend. Continue straight on at the traffic lights and about 300 yards further on you will see Chestnuts on the left hand side.

Travelling on the A2 south, don't join the M2 motorway, rather follow the A2 exit off to Gillingham and Grain, then join the A289 towards Grain.  Take the first ext to Gravesend and Rochester.  Then at the roundabout, take a left exit onto the A226 towards Gravesend.  Continue over the lights. Chestnuts is about 300 yards on the left hand side.

Bus services (no.136) also run regularly to Higham from Rochester and Gravesend.
