Ancient oak beams, original brickwork and exposed lime plasterwork accentuate its rustic charm. Combined with 3 en-suite bedrooms, underfloor heating and large windows allowing plenty of natural light to flood in, Norwood Barn offers a refined mix of country and contemporary style.

With a spacious open plan kitchen and dining room at ground level, light floods in through the floor-to-ceiling glass panes that flank the central atrium. On a mezzanine level above, amongst the high oak beams is the fabulous galleried living room. Framed by a glass and oak balcony looking down into the atrium, the most wonderful discovery is the vast picture window looking out on spectacular long range views to north Kent; spanning over 20 miles on a clear day to the Isle of Sheppey, Whitstable and Herne Bay and beyond. The flexible layout offers three en-suite bedrooms, with a large master bedroom in its own separate first floor area, and a further double and twin room downstairs.
Through the French doors opening from the kitchen there is a courtyard garden enclosed with a pretty flint wall, the perfect secure spot to let the kids play. To stretch your legs further afield, don your walking shoes and head out into the nearby woods and mile upon mile of Kent countryside.

Lovely accommodation. Lovely view from upstairs seating area. Outside table and chairs for dining outside if weather permits. Condiments, milk, bread etc supplied. Can park right outside accommodation, and is set in the Kent countryside on a farm. We had a lovely weekend there.

This property has so much potential and it’s a real mixed but honest review from our recent stay.Norwood Barn is located in a rural location which is everything we wanted from a location perspective. We knew that we’d need to drive to nearby shops etc which was absolutely fine. It’s been renovated from an old barn with beautiful big windows to maximise the views and let in light. We saw so many different birds from sparrows, finches and woodpeckers from the window in the upstairs living area. Unfortunately, the property wasn’t the cleanest on arrival. There was a thick layer of dust, cobwebs and the tablecloth had a lot of crumbs over it before we even sat down. I’ve lived on farms and rural most my life so I appreciate old buildings with old timber beams do trap dust but this was quite excessive in places.The beds were comfortable however, it was almost impossible to get a good night sleep in the twin room as the blind is wafer thin letting through the early morning sunrise. The twin room had the best shower in the property and water pressure was great. The shower in the double room downstairs was difficult to maintain a consistent temperature with the guest in that room giving up trying to use it. The bathroom upstairs is really cramped (which was shown in the photos so we were aware when booking). The blackout blinds on the velux windows in the master bedroom upstairs were brilliant and kept the room dark and let through beautiful sunlight when opened. The kitchen has a good range of utensils, a kettle, microwave, toaster and oven. However, I think it would be difficult to cook a family meal in the kitchen and there isn’t proper China plates to eat off (they were plastic / melamine).The welcome gifts of bread, butter, jam, milk and juice were thoughtful and much appreciated. I also liked that the bathrooms all had liquid handsoap. It was also good that washing up liquid, a clean sponge and cloth had also been left for us (I always bring some along as this isn’t always a given).Overall, this property has so much potential but in comparison to other properties I’ve stayed at in the same price range it doesn’t rank high. I think it’s a shame the layout upstairs has left such a small bathroom. There’s some quick wins for improvements such as the blind in the twin room, and a bit more attention to detail and finishing touches. We had three nights at Norwood Barn which was probably our limit.

A very enjoyable 4 night stay with our daughter, son-in-law and baby grandson. The accommodation was very comfortable, clean and cosy. Would definitely reccommend.
