For an enlarged celebration the Riverside Lodge can welcome family groups with an immaculate contemporary residence set yards from the main Riverside Cottage, this make the estate an ideal place for extended celebrations. The main cottage can sleep up to 10 people in traditional beamed period rooms and the lodge can sleep an additional 4.

Inside the spacious lodge is a beautiful beamed open, plan sitting room which is the perfect place to relax within this peaceful setting. Its large glass French windows open onto a private terrace overlooking the grounds, a perfect place to spend a summers evening by the pool. Modern features abound inside with a separate kitchen leading onto the estates pool terrace outside. The main bedroom is large and sleeps 2. Whilst second bedroom is accessed via a narrow steep open staircase which leads to an open ended loft space, open to the main sitting room below. We would recommend that this room space is not suitable for younger children or elderly adults. A modern spacious shower room on the ground floor completes the setting.

Riverside Cottage itself is nestled in 5 acres of beautiful gardens set on the banks of the River Dever. The cottage is a delightful example of a truly blissful country retreat with its thatched roof, cosy but spacious interior and wonderfully manicured gardens. Riverside Cottage gives a feeling of tranquility and seclusion as soon as you enter its long driveway with everything a country goer may want and yet within walking distance of the little hamlet of Bansbury.

This charming much loved home is within easy reach of the historic City of Winchester with its excellent shopping and restaurants. However, the setting is so pretty you may not want to leave at all! There is an impressive kitchen at the heart of the property with a traditional AGA, which no true country cottage is without, and is ideal for entertaining. This opens out on to the garden facing conservatory that has wonderful views of the surrounding grounds. The cottage has no shortage of traditional charm with original wood beams, comfy beds, unique furniture and cosy log burner to relax by and unwind after a long country walk.

The cottage was once separate farmers’ cottages but was converted into one property with care; it has all the unique touches of each cottage including 3 separate staircases and hidden gems you will need to discover for yourself!

Although Riverside Cottage is set beside a river the 5 acre garden is fully fenced and gated to ensure everyone’s safety. No wonder the Riverside Cottage featured in The Sunday Times '25 great British holiday rentals' and guests return year after year.
