Fabulous view: watching the sun rise over Bewl Water each morning was amazing. Facilities provided were very good and the beds were comfortable. Very quiet and easy to find. A most enjoyable stay.

Hoppers Cottage was spotless and had everything you could possibly need — neat, tidy, and thoughtfully equipped. James coming by in person to check that everything was okay was such a lovely touch (thank you for the apple juice!).The views were absolutely spectacular, changing hourly with the shifting sky and sunlight. Waking up to a perfect sunrise and closing the curtains on a beautiful sunset (complete with your very own murmuration) was truly wonderful. The wood fire is super-efficient; just one or two logs in the early evening warmed the whole cottage. The benches out front are perfectly placed to sit in the sun and watch the trees change colour. Both bathrooms are well appointed, with plenty of hot water for long, relaxing baths or warm showers.Having direct access to Bewl Water and the woodland walks, just across the field and through the gate, felt like a real gift — didn’t meet another soul all week in those peaceful English woodlands and was the perfect place to reflect and thinkWadhurst has excellent coffee shops and a lovely patisserie, while nearby Ticehurst offers charming, quirky shops to browse. During our stay we also visited Sissinghurst, Sheffield Park, and Bateman’s, and enjoyed delicious lunches at Dannikers and Taywell Farm Shops — both highly recommended!

Lovely cottage with fantastic views. Secluded and quiet. Very well appointed but could do with replacement pots and pans if you wanted to do a lot of cooking. Would definitely recommend and would like to come back. A lot of beautiful countryside near to hand. Good for pets.
