We had a lovely long weekend break at Dougies retreat. The house had everything we needed and the location was great, well within walking distance of the beach and pubs / shops. We appreciated the basket of food that was left for us too. We were really lucky with the weather and enjoyed sitting out in the garden. Only a couple of miles from Sovereign Harbour and Eastbourne. I would definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely week at Dougies retreat with my parents in their 80’s. unfortunately the weather wasn’t the best but that gave us more time to enjoy the accommodation. We were able to play games in the bright warm sunroom or relax in the lounge with a movie. We caught the bus into Eastbourne and Hastings the bus stop and beach was very close by. We walked to the fish and chip shop, the Chinese and the Castle pub which was also very good. The owner was very responsive when I needed to contact them. We had a lovely relaxing week. The only suggestion I have would be to highlight the step from the kitchen to the sunroom as my Mum and Husband seemed not see it very well.
