Fenns Barn is a superb barn conversation with space for up to seven people to sleep in three bedrooms with a layout that suits families and friends, located on Fenns Farm in the beautiful Manifold Valley in the Peak District National Park. There are footpaths and cycling routes from the door and an excellent pub half a mile away in Butterton. It's perfect for a holiday at any time of the year as it is within easy reach of favourite attractions that include Chatsworth House and Alton Towers, and picturesque towns like Bakewell and Buxton.
Fenns Barn is your own piece of Peak District heaven. Tucked away in a peaceful corner of Fenns Farm, which has been in the Renshaw family for five generations, the stone building has been turned from a functional barn into a gorgeous holiday home with space to accommodate six people in three bedrooms, plus an additional person on a fold-up bed. The layout suits couples, families or friends, while the location near Butterton in the Manifold Valley is perfect for walking, cycling and sightseeing. The cottage is extremely well-equipped for self-catering and within walking distance of the Black Lion pub which has been welcoming thirsty patrons since 1782. A hot tub will also be installed for summer 2021 (additional charge will apply - please speak to the owner for further details).
The Manifold Valley is spectacular in every season. Fenns Barn is ideally placed with immediate access to beautiful walks from the door. Climb the Roaches, walk or cycle along the Manifold Valley Trail, and explore the Dovedale Valley. Thor's Cave is only a mile away, while the walk from Butterton to Warslow and Wettonmill is also very pretty. The Manifold River is a tributary of the River Dove, and some footpaths lead beside both rivers and provide opportunities to fish for brown trout and grayling.
Fenns Farm is peaceful and feels remote but is convenient for some of the area's best-loved attractions. The magnificent Chatsworth House is only 35 minutes away, with Haddon Hall, Peak Wildlife Park, World of Wedgewood, and Alton Towers also being accessible by car. Daytrips can include exploring Bakewell, Buxton, Ashbourne and Leek, or the many picturesque villages that dot the Peak District National Park.
The owners of Fenns Farm have another comfortable self-catering cottage and two further barns providing more rustic accommodation for glamping. Each property is entirely private and self-contained but can, depending on availability, be booked together to accommodate extended families or groups of friends. Please see the owner's website for details.
