About this property

Stocksbridge 2.5 miles. Set on the outskirts of Bolsterstone village, on The Old Sawmill, is this arresting self-catering cottage. Renovated to a high standard, Willow offers a chic and restful base from which a family or group of six can tour the glorious Peak District National Park. As you enter into this attractive abode, be greeted by a bright and spacious hallway, where you can leave your coats to hang and place your mud-splattered boots on the rack, before continuing through to the inviting sitting room. Allow yourself to fall onto one of the gorgeous blue velvet sofas and unwind with some of your favourite shows on the impressive TV, or cross the beautiful wood effect cyramic tiled floor over to the stylish white-gloss kitchen and prepare a tasty home-cooked meal for the whole family to enjoy whilst gathered at the contemporary dining table. Freshen up in the handy ground-floor cloakroom, or continue up the staircase to the first floor and discover a bright bathroom with wall-to-floor tiling and a roomy bath with overhead shower, together providing a wonderful space to escape the excitement as you indulge in a long afternoon soak. Grab your towel from the heated rail and retreat to one of the two double bedrooms or quaint bunk room, each appointed with an abundance of storage space and decorated with a tasteful colour palette. Kick-start your mornings with a delicious cup of coffee out on the front patio, before grabbing your walking boots and waterproof coats and embarking on a scenic stroll to the heart of Stocksbridge. Uncover a good selection of independent cafés, charming pubs and well-established restaurants, along with a well-stocked supermarket selling all the essential household items. Take a stroll through the Clock Tower Gardens, or wander along the Underbank Reservoir before a more challenging hike along Upper Don Trail. Hop in the car and head for Barnsley where you can take a tour of the well-kept lawns of Wentworth Castle Gardens, or see the Victorian Conservatory, Corinthian Temple, and The Rotunda. Spend the day in the city of Sheffield and explore the Rock Garden and Norfolk Heritage Park, or admire the captivating exhibitions of The National Videogame Museum and the Kelham Island Museum. Catch a show at Lyceum Theatre, before indulging in dinner and drinks in some of the cities finest restaurants. With so much excitement right on your doorstep, its little wonder that Willow is the perfect choice for any escape to the Peak District.

Set in the foothills of the Peak District National Park, the town of Stocksbridge provides an excellent backdrop for any adventure in this magnificent part of the countryside. Home to a wide variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, visitors have all their self-catering needs covered. The city of Sheffield and the town of Rotherham lie within easy touring distance, and the villages of Upper Midhope and High Bradfield are well-worth a visit.

Very comfy and welcoming. We had a couple of minor issues, but I was lucky enough to run into Oliver (who does the maintenance) and he sorted them out straight away. It would be helpful to have some instructions on how to get the telly working, though. Our only complaint!

Loved the velux windows and quirky layout of the cottage itself. The only small negative was the lack of Wifi throughout the cottage, had to go to the front door, or upstairs to access it. Apart from that, can't really fault anything and we would definitely come back

Cottage was just as described and pictures do not do it justice. Plenty of space and beautifully laid out. Fully equipped. The cottage is just as beautiful on the outside, located in a quiet area. Ideal location for travelling to nearby villages or walks in the Peak District. Only downside was the bed was too soft but that’s a personal preference. Would definitely recommend and would certainly come back.
