Boshaw Cottage is highly praised for its cleanliness, stunning location, and comfort. Guests appreciate the well-equipped facilities and the thoughtful touches, including treats on arrival. The picturesque views and proximity to walks and local amenities enhance the stay, although one review mentions a lack of enclosed space for dogs.
The majority of guests report the cottage as spotless and immaculately clean, contributing to a high cleanliness score. One negative review regarding cleanliness appears to be an outlier.
The location is consistently described as lovely, with amazing views and good access to walks and local attractions. The proximity to a pub and farm shop is frequently mentioned as a bonus.
Comfort is highly rated, with guests finding the cottage cosy and the beds comfortable. There are some minor comments about a hard bed and an uncomfortable chair, but these are few.
Facilities are generally well-received, with the cottage being well-equipped and maintained. There are positive mentions of the kitchen and the log burner. However, a few guests noted the absence of a dishwasher and Wi-Fi.
While guests appreciate the lovely treats on arrival and the provision of dog treats, there is not enough consistent information across reviews to score thoughtfulness accurately. It should be noted that such treats are a kind gesture and may not be guaranteed.

We spent a month here, waiting for our house purchase to go through. It's in an idyllic location with lots of lovely walks on the doorstep. Jenny and her family were fabulous hosts. The cottage had everything we could possibly think of, making us totally self-sufficient. The beds were really comfortable and the cottage was always warm, even when it snowed. The log burning fire was a lovely addition, very cosy on a winter's day/evening. We would definitely recommend this cottage for long, or short, stays!

The cottage was cosy, well furnished and was everything we needed for a restful festive retreat. It was immaculately clean, well decorated and the welcome pack was a lovely touch after our long journey. The beds were comfortable, warm and welcoming. The bathroom with both a shower and a roll top bath (special touch) were welcome after some cold walks. The fire warmed the whole house up quickly and was a beautiful feature of the living room. It is beautifully located at the top of the hill in Hade Edge looking over the village and reservoir. There was plenty of walks from the doorstep and maps provided. The Bowshaw trout is the local pub (only 192 steps - yes we counted) which offers delicious pub grub, stunning views and local ale. Thank you Jenny, for excellent communication and helping us promptly. It was the most wonderful cottage, highly recommend staying here. Just a note, the directions could be updated to say Bowshaw Trout as a different pub name is given. Thank you again.
