    About this property

A detached Victorian cottage wrapped in breath-taking countryside, situated in the rural heights of Tintwistle. The sense of freedom of open views make an excellent retreat for families or friends.Take a second to soak in the surroundings, and then enter through the lovely doorway. An open plan kitchen and dining area boasts character, and introduces a warming country theme. The spacious layout is enhanced by a woodburner which rests to the side for a cosy place to dine out with your family. Sitting off from this, a utility room holds extra essentials for your convenience, and is neighboured by a downstairs cloakroom. Follow the layout round, and you will come to a double bedroom with a strip of colour and pretty furnishings, overlooking peaceful views. Come night time, you will want to relax in the spacious sitting room hosting leather sofa's, a large woodburning stove and a selection of books, so that you can sit back and enjoy the calming atmosphere. Take the stairs to a luxury bathroom containing a large corner bath, and an elegant walk-in shower. Further round, a king-size double bedroom offers a serene escape, complimented by delicate pastel curtains. Two twin bedrooms also lie on this floor, neatly presented, and matched with a purple tone. Embracing a more neutral effect, a double bedroom is laced with light décor and elevated by even more enticing views. Step outside to be uplifted by the natural scenery. This secluded location is perfect for walking, fishing or mountain biking, or even barbecuing with your friends on a sunny day. Why not take a stroll into the village of Tintwistle, or explore the town of Glossop providing a handful of shops, pubs and restaurants. This is a delightful cottage for a carefree stay.

The millstone village of Tintwistle, 2 miles from Glossop, often labelled the "Gateway to the Peaks", is skirted on three sides by the Peak District National Park and is renowned for the moorlands of the Dark Peak. Accessed via the infamous Snake Pass, this most attractive area, houses some fine 17th and 18th Century cottages. Bottoms Reservoir is in the centre of the village, providing the perfect setting for a leisurely stroll.

"The house is along a single lane just the house and a farm at the end. Hiring over New Year this could have been an issue if it had snowed, but we had no issues at all. Even got a shopping delivery and a take away and both managed to get to the house no problems. On arrival the house was lovely and warm and plenty of logs to burn over our 4 days. As said the house is along the end of a lane so very quiet - perfect for us. Fantastic set of walks from the house with the dogs. Views from the house ..."

" We got complementary tea, coffee, milk and biscuits which was handy as we didn't have to get those items with us for a short stay. I loved that there was a set of towels for each individual person on the bed, so no need to share. The only issue we had was we didn't get an wifi, there was a problem with the BT connection. The weather was super pouring rain so wifi was needed. The owner got back to me very quickly when I asked her question before our trip. She was very helpful. I would just suggest that the property has a decent size barbecue as in most cottages I have been to in the past provide this. The only comfort issue we all had was that the bed were so soft, and it gave us all back pain. I would suggest a change of all the mattresses. Overall a nice property. "

" Nice cottage with some great walks nearby. The cottage has everything needed for a family stay. We would recommend the 'Bulls Head' pub nearby in Tintwistle as well as the Vegan Cafe, both serve excellent food. "

" The place was very comfortably furnished, everything that was needed was provided also. The property was well located, very close to amenities and had enough space both inside and outside the property for a variety of uses. The only complaint that could be noted would be that the property was quite cold at times as the timing for the heating could not be changed. Other than that, the property far exceeded expectations. "

" We wanted somewhere quiet but not too far away from amenities. This was ideal for us as we had a lovely walk into Glossop, bit hilly at times but we was lucky as the weather was lovely. Only £13 in the taxi coming home. The cottage set up is great, I loved the kitchen dining area with the wood burner and it also had a very comfortable lounge with a log burner. All the bedrooms were very comfortable and clean. The owner had kindly left us tea, coffee, milk, sugar and biscuits plus the essential cleaning materials. Over all it was probably one of the best cottages we have stayed in. "

" Pub 10 minute walk away with brilliant food and atmosphere. A 1 hour up hill walk into glossop which we did and was nice. "

    Ms Bailey ‐ 1 Mar 2018
"If we'd had the name of the road we could have found it more easily. It was a lovely spot, isolated but near to the village and bigger towns. Gorgeous views, big rooms (wasn't sure they would be as it was a cottage) and very comfortable for a big group. We had everything we needed. The cottage was quite cold as the central heating wasn't enough to heat it, so we spent quite a bit of money on logs for the wood burners."
    Ms Bailey ‐ 1 Mar 2018
"We weren't given the name of the road the cottage was on, just the postcode, so it was quite difficult to locate as it was in a rural location. "Plenty boardgames and very clean. Couldn't have asked for anything better - and what a view from the house."
