About this property

This stone semi-detached cottage is situated in the hamlet of Newhaven, near the village of Hartington, a starting point for walkers and cyclists, with many places of interest just waiting to be discovered. Designed with couples in mind, Shires Rest is homely and inviting, an opportunity to spend some quality time in this wonderful part of the country. The interior commences with a country-cottage kitchen/diner set up for four people, continuing through to a traditional sitting room with upright grand piano and a gas-effect woodburner and a Electric Reclining Sofa. The double bedroom promises a peaceful night's sleep, a comfy layout accompanied by charming furnishings, including a wardrobe and chest of drawers, all well-appointed for the classic shower room. Note: This property can be booked with Ref. 996655, together they can sleep up to six people.

The former Hartington railway station, about a mile and half from the village itself, is now a picnic area and the converted track is known as the Tissington Trail, popular with both walkers and cyclists. Hartington is also a good starting point for walking along Beresford Dale, a beautiful place with its curiously formed cliffs and rocks.
