This beautiful, stone, barn conversion enjoys stunning, uninterrupted countryside views, set in the grounds of a working dairy farm 1400ft above sea level, and situated in the heart of rural Derbyshire, lying above the village of Chelmorton to the west and the historic village of Taddington to the east. This delightful cottage is an ideal romantic getaway for a couple wishing to explore the glorious Peak District. Beautifully appointed throughout, the accommodation is all on the ground floor. This lovingly restored conversion features flagged floors and exposed roof beams combined with natural wood furniture, creating a cosy welcoming ambience with contemporary style soft furnishings. The cottage offers a tastefully decorated bedroom and a stylish bathroom with power shower. Enjoy the open plan living space with a designer kitchen, dining area and comfortable sofa where you can snuggle up together and marvel the glorious views from the full length window - you may even get the resident sheep looking in to say hello! Outside, the patio provides a great spot to sit out with a glass of what you fancy and enjoy panoramic views of the stunning rolling countryside. This is the perfect place to spend some quiet time, however, if you wish to pull on your walking boots, there are extensive walks with the Limestone Way on the doorstep. There is a stable and secure bike storage, so you are very well catered for whatever you ride. The owner runs dry-stone walling courses, so you could give it a try and to stay during lambing season is a sheer joy. Take a short drive to discover the spa town of Buxton, market town of Bakewell and the historic Chatsworth House, as well as many other attractions the Peak District National Park has to offer. This lovely cottage is the ideal base to relax at any time of the year.
The ancient, picturesque and peaceful village of Chelmorton is situated in the heart of the Peak National Park. The village boasts a lovely pub which serves excellent food. Chelmorton has a fascinating historic landscape of 'fossil' arable strips enclosed within drystone walls and the village has a lovely medieval church of St John the Baptist.

A very friendly welcome from Mark and Caroline. The barn was lovely and a very generous welcome pack of essentials awaited us. The âfarmyard experience out of this world with the sheep and new lambs, a beautiful horse , cockerels and not forgetting the donkeys next field along! Numerous tracks to explore right from the doorstep and a pub doing great meals just a short stroll away! Definitely one of the very best breaks weâve had and would definitely recommend a visit. The cottage is beautiful and set in a stunning, peaceful location. Decoration is to a high standard, the property was very clean and the owners have thought of everything. The kitchen is fully kitted out for self catering. The bathroom includes thick fluffy towels and even a bar of soap. There is a hairdryer in the wardrobe, and the bedroom has plenty of clothes storage and a good quality firm mattress. There was an extremely generous complimentary food hamper awaiting our arrival and I was so pleased to see that sustainable and eco brands were favoured. Mark and Caroline, the owners, were helpful and friendly but never intrusive. They even let us into the barn to see the newborn lambs which was a joy! This is the best cottage experience we've had and we couldn't have asked for more. Thank you Mark and Caroline for all your hard work and making us feel so welcome.

Everything was perfect- warm (-2 degrees outside) comfortable, magnificent views, amazing window in living room looking over the fields and owner living next door should assistance be required. This was a perfect week - walking to pub across the fields (10 minutes), Castleton (30 minute easy drive), Edale (30 minute easy drive) all provided excellent walks. Of course some days we walked from the barn and left the car due to the excellent location. Highly recommended.
