A terrific location for those who want to spend the day in open countryside but also like the facilities of the town centre in the evenings. Step into this charming cottage which combines traditional character with contemporary design and provides all the you need for a restful stay. Step into the entrance hallway where there is space for hanging coats and room for shoes or walking boots. Head through to the comfortable living room where you can relax in front of the gas wood burner and watch your favourite programme on the TV. The kitchen has a light and airy feel with all the mod cons you could wish for and a dining area to enjoy, from here you can access the fabulous outside decking area. The first floor bathroom has a shower over bath, there are two bright and airy bedrooms one double and one single to enjoy on this floor. Take the stairs to the second floor and you will find the generous master suite with kingsize bed and fabulous views!
Just 100 yards away is a footpath from where you can walk up to Solomon’s Temple, Buxton Country Park with ’Go Ape’, Pooles Cavern and a tea room within walking distance.
Buxton is a real festival town and the cottage’s great location puts you in a ideal location to enjoy its summer carnivals and many musical and theatrical events. Situated within very easy walking distance of all the Buxton International Festival and Fringe venues, it is short walk from Buxton Opera House. Buxton is surrounded by the beautiful Derbyshire countryside and lies less than a mile from the Peak National Park. The more adventurous can enjoy cycling, rock climbing and gliding. Visit Chatsworth and Haddon Hall, and the National Trust’s Hardwick Hall, all of which have starred in the BBC period dramas and historical films. And if ever you do get a yearning for the big city, there’s always Manchester, just an hour away on the train. Really, what more could you want?

We had a lovely stay. The property was clean, comfortable and spacious for the five of us. The location is excellent, with Buxton just a 20 minute walk away or a short drive. Attraction and hiking/trail routes are also very close. Plenty of on street parking. I would certainly recommend.

We had a lovely new year break at Holmfield. The cottage is located a mile from Buxton town centre with a pub and local shop just 5 minutes away.Cottage itself is warm and cosy and well furnished with a good kitchen. Living room is cosy and m and the bedrooms are all very comfortable.All-in-all would thoroughly recommend Holmfield.
