Browse a range of quirky independent shops in search of a gift to bring back home, or visit the fascinating Buxton Opera House offering exciting back stage tours to get a look behind the scenes of one of the UK’s finest examples of a Frank Matcham theatre. Take the footpath behind the end of the garden straight up onto the moors towards Burbage Edge and the beautiful Goyt Valley or, at the top of the road, take a walk up through woodland into Buxton Country Park and enjoy panoramic views from local landmark, Solomon’s Temple. The town is known for its incredible thermal spas and many local landmarks and attractions that tell of the towns rich and exciting history. Complemented by a variety of local stores, as well as many quirky cafés, pubs and restaurants, this town has everything you could possibly need. Both Bakewell and Matlock can be reached within a pleasant drive and make for great days out, whilst the traditional town of Chesterfield rests slightly further afield.
