Fern Spree is a well-regarded holiday rental in Buxton, praised for its comfort, cleanliness, and convenient location. Guests appreciate the well-equipped and spacious apartments, with several noting the property's suitability for exploring the local area and its proximity to restaurants and shops. While some guests mention noise from traffic and upstairs neighbours, the overall sentiment is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.
The property generally receives high marks for cleanliness, with numerous guests describing it as 'super clean', 'exceptionally clean', and 'spotless'. However, a few guests noted minor issues such as crumbs on plates and a mould concern, slightly affecting the score.
The location is highly praised for being well situated for local attractions, restaurants, and shops, with easy access to walking paths and the town centre. The convenience of off-road parking is also appreciated.
Guests find the apartments comfortable, mentioning 'comfy beds' and a 'lovely family holiday'. Some guests, however, reported issues with noise and light affecting sleep, which impacts the comfort score.
Facilities are generally well-received, with mentions of a well-equipped kitchen and good amenities. However, there are comments about maintenance issues such as a leaky sink, mould, and the need for a freezer defrost, which suggest room for improvement.
While guests have mentioned receiving biscuits and jam, which indicates thoughtfulness, there are not enough references to consistently provided gifts or special touches to accurately score this category. It should be noted that such gifts are a pleasant surprise and not guaranteed.

Buxton is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Peak District, most renowned for impressive architecture, magnificent buildings and of course, its spring water which you can try direct from the source itself at St. Ann’s Well. Home to a wonderful array of shops, restaurants, wine bars and even its own brewery, the spa town holds a full calendar of events including the Opera House, Pavilion Gardens and the Buxton Festival Fringe, which is a vibrant open arts festival, held annually every July. As this is the gateway to the Peak District National Park there’s good walking close by, including up to Solomon’s Temple which offers some spectacular views across the High Peak. This is a great base for exploring a number of pretty towns and villages within easy reach including Bakewell, 12½ miles away, which is home to the stunning properties of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, the beautiful honeypot village of Castleton, 11 miles away, the fascinating plague village of Eyam, 13¾ miles and the start/end of the Pennine Way at Edale is 13 miles. Shop 100 yards, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

The apartment is lovely , but do feel the mould on the walls and round the windows in both bedrooms needs addressing !, also the kitchen sink had a leak which has obviously been ongoing for some time because of the mould under the sink which is obvious when you open the draw. The freezer needed a defrost, there was also a duff lamp in the kitchen which needed replacing and the tiles around the hob and in side the over door could do with a clean. Also the noise from the apartment above was pretty loud, but do appreciate very little can be done about that.If the above things were addressed we could go back

Fern Spree was a stunning place to stay. Couldn't fault it at all. A short walk into Buxton which is always a bonus. I would definitely recommend.

Very comfortable and well equipped apartment. Buxton is a good location for exploring the local area. Chatsworth House, Bakewell, Matlock, Tatton Park & RHS Bridgewater were all easy for us to travel to. Buxton is an interesting place in itself. All in all a very pleasurable stay
