Swallows Barn in Buxton is highly praised for its cleanliness, charming rural setting, and warm, cosy atmosphere. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches from the owner and the property's proximity to walking trails and local pubs. While some mention the lack of Wi-Fi and phone signal as a drawback, others see it as an opportunity for a peaceful break. The cottage's facilities and comfort are generally well-regarded, though a few guests suggest minor improvements.
The cottage receives high marks for cleanliness, with numerous guests describing it as 'spotless', 'immaculate', and 'very clean'. Only a couple of reviews mention dirt stains or the need for deep cleaning, which suggests these are isolated incidents rather than the norm.
The location is celebrated for its beauty and tranquillity, with easy access to walks and local towns. The rural setting on a working farm adds to the charm, although a few guests noted the remoteness as a consideration for connectivity.
Comfort is generally rated highly, with guests finding the cottage cosy and the bed comfortable. However, some guests found the sofa and armchair less comfortable, and there were mixed reviews about the mattress, leading to a slightly lower score.
Facilities are well-regarded, with the cottage being well-equipped for guests' needs. Some guests suggested improvements such as better Wi-Fi, more secure toilet seats, and more entertainment options like games and books, which indicates room for enhancement.
