Guests say

Brooklands Farm in Youlgreave is a spacious and comfortable cottage, praised for its stunning countryside views and excellent village location. Guests appreciate the easy access to local walks, pubs, and shops, as well as the peaceful setting and characterful charm. The cottage is well-equipped for a relaxing stay, with many visitors keen to return. While some mention areas for improvement in cleanliness and maintenance, the overall experience is positive, making it a popular choice for those seeking a rural retreat in the Peak District.

Most guests found the cottage clean and comfortable, but several reviews mention issues such as an unclean cooker, shower, and kitchen cupboards. The majority of feedback is positive, though a few guests felt a deeper clean was needed in some areas.

The location is highly praised, with guests loving the beautiful views, peaceful setting, and proximity to village amenities, walks, and local attractions. The only minor drawback noted is the steep, narrow drive.

Guests consistently describe the cottage as spacious, cosy, and comfortable, with well-sized bedrooms and living areas. Some mention narrow stairs, which may be challenging for those with mobility issues, but overall comfort is rated highly.

The cottage is generally well-equipped, with a well-laid-out kitchen, wood burner, and outdoor space. Some guests noted minor maintenance issues such as wobbly taps, difficult drawers, and an old cooker, but these did not significantly impact their stay. Lack of WiFi is mentioned but not seen as a major problem.

Guests appreciated the friendly and helpful owners, and some enjoyed fresh eggs from the farm. However, as gifts or extras are not guaranteed, future guests should not expect them as standard.

The location is wonderful - friendly farm and amazing view. The village setting is excellent with good amenities- super coffee shop post office and Methodist church. Lots of lovely local walks especially loved the river valleys The cottage is comfortable despite parts feeling a bit dated but actually traditional farm cottage, and you can feel relaxed. Owners very helpful. Though we had cold weather for June it was one of the best holidays.
