Low Newton Cottage is a wonderfully appointed, semi-detached house resting on the edges of Amble, a waterfront town cradling the River Coquet estuary at the southern gateway to the Northumberland Coast. It is a delightful getaway for families and friends looking to experience a coastal break, with plenty to see and do in the area. Step inside and find a handy ground floor cloakroom on entrance, before heading through to the sitting room to relax and unwind within a cosy setting. The large window lets in plenty of natural light and the high ceiling gives it a spacious feel, allowing you to gather with your loved ones and plan fun-filled days out over a hot brew. Move through to the kitchen at the rear of the property, where you can prepare a home-cooked meal and get together around the dining table. There is a pretty, Victorian-style mosaic floor uplifting the neutral décor and modern appliances getting you through your stay. Up the carpeted stairs, you have three bedrooms awaiting your arrival; a king-size double with its own en-suite shower room, followed by a twin and a single. You also have the luxury of a family bathroom with the same beautifully tiled flooring as the cloakroom. Open up the French doors from the dining area on a crisp day and step out to enjoy the last of the sun with a drink or good book to delve into. Amble has supermarkets, takeaways, restaurants and a Sunday market, as well as its pretty harbour and golden beach, where you can watch colourful boats drifting in and out and bask in the sun as the waves roll in. Watersports enthusiasts can venture over to Coquet Shorebase Trust and dive into a variety of activities such as sailing and kayaking. You are also in an ideal location for touring the beautiful heritage coastline and charming towns of the area, such as Alnwick with its castle and gardens, and Warkworth, also with its majestic caste and riverside setting. The National Trust's Wallington Hall and Cragside are also within easy reach, both providing a lovely day out with the family. There are also lots of opportunities for walking and cycling in the area, a superb getaway in a sought-after location.
The seaport of Amble is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet, an ideal place for exploring Northumberland. Large fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters. A mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an rspb reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks. Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.
