Viewpoint is a warm, cosy property with a pleasant location in Kendal, offering lovely views and a convenient base for exploring. It has been praised for its comfortable beds and welcoming touches, though some guests noted areas for improvement in cleanliness and maintenance.
Guests have found the property to be superficially clean but noted issues with cobwebs, mould, and a moth outbreak. The cleanliness seems to vary, with some guests satisfied and others finding it lacking.
The property is well-located in Kendal, close to the town centre and local amenities, with views of the castle and cricket field. It is considered a great base for walking holidays and exploring the Lake District.
The property is generally considered comfortable, with a warm atmosphere and cosy beds. However, some guests mentioned issues with seating and the firmness of mattresses, suggesting room for improvement.
Facilities are adequate with a well-equipped kitchen, parking, and a garden, but guests have reported problems with Wi-Fi, TV reception, and a lack of cleaning materials. Some also suggested the need for more kitchenware and a hairdryer.
The owner's thoughtfulness is appreciated, with mentions of a welcome bottle of wine and helpful communication. However, it should be noted that such gestures are kind but not guaranteed for every stay.

This time the heating timing was all off, so I put it on and off manually when I was in. I couldn't get the house anywhere near a comfortable temperature and there was only two inches of hot water for a bath. I think the boiler needs attention or replacing. The blind in the lounge won't stay closed. The tv has dreadful reception and the picture breaks up constantly and is almost unwatchable. I searched for tea towels and bought two, before finally spotting them tucked away under the sink! There were still no wooden spoons, despite my (and others) previous comments. Such a small and cheap thing to correct! Only cheap and blunt knives provided. Only one bath towel upstairs and one hand towel downstairs, despite booking for two people (later found another towel in a cupboard). The house was not very clean and decor is tatty in places. This was a really uncomfortable and unpleasant week's stay. I would suggest this house needs some attention if you are going to continue to let it out as a holiday house.

Although the location is good, the house has poor access and is beyond dated. The house was not cleaned for our arrival, floors and fridge dirty, bedding didn't fit the bed, no curtains on the curtain poles, dirty cloths left in the sink, terrible decor and just depressing, so much so, we refused to stay there. The owner would not offer any compensation or apology, would definitely not recommend.
