A superb detached cottage, set on the owners working farm next to their small static caravan park, on the outskirts of the Lake District with views across the surrounding rolling countryside. Appointed to a high standard throughout with cosy underfloor heating, this spacious cottage is sure to appeal to families, couples and friends looking to enjoy time together in the pretty Cumbrian countryside. Set all on ground floor level, the cottage has two bright and cosy bedrooms with the master complete with its own en-suite shower room. The sizeable open plan living space has a bespoke fitted kitchen, dining area and a splendid sitting area with a woodburning stove and French doors opening onto the rear patio and garden.
Outside, a flagged area and gravel parking lie to the front, whilst to the rear is a sizeable lawned garden with patio area from where you can enjoy an early morning coffee or settle down with an alfresco meal at the end of a busy day. The cottage sits in an attractive, rural location enabling guests to enjoy lovely walks right from the front door. During the lambing and calving season, guests will see the farmer busy tending to their flock, giving a real flavour of this authentic country location. The cottage is larger than we were expecting and the views are jaw dropping. We loved looking out of our windows at hills, green fields, sheep, cows and horses. The cottage is so homely with a very well stocked kitchen, comfy sofas & beds & pillows. Pipping hot shower and an electronic skylight in the bedrooms and bathrooms to let in air and light. Its on a working farm but we never heard anything other than owls and slept like logs. It also has a shared garden, utility room with washing machine & dryer, rotary airer and pegs. This was our 1st time visiting the Lake District and we thoroughly enjoyed going out for the day then coming back to the gorgeous cottage to chill and cook tea. We were blessed with amazing hot sunny weather the whole time with not a drop of rain. We would often sit outside the front on the bench having a cuppa and having a laugh and chat with John (farmer & owner). He would always ask what we had been up to and laugh at the number of miles we had walked. If we were in the garden or outside and Hazel saw us she would chat and ask about our day and where we had been. John & Hazel are very hard working and the most kind, friendliest people we have met and I would most definitely recommend their cottage to friends & family to stay. We have had the most amazing holiday and didn't want to leave and come home. We are missing the views, cows, sheep and banter with John. Thank you John & Hazel for the most memorable holiday.
