Guests say

Riddings Barn receives glowing praise for its immaculate presentation, spacious and comfortable interiors, and breathtaking countryside views. Guests consistently highlight the exceptionally well-equipped kitchen, luxurious beds, and peaceful setting, making it ideal for family gatherings and relaxing getaways. The thoughtful touches from the owners, such as welcome gifts and festive decorations, are much appreciated. While the rural location is a major draw, several guests note the narrow access bridge and single-track roads require careful navigation. Overall, the property offers a memorable and high-quality stay in a stunning location.

Cleanliness is repeatedly described as outstanding, with numerous guests calling the property spotless, immaculate, and very well maintained. Only one review mentions a minor odour issue, but this is an isolated comment among overwhelmingly positive feedback.

The location is widely praised for its beautiful, tranquil countryside setting and stunning views. Its proximity to both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales is a highlight. The only recurring concern is the narrow access bridge and single-track roads, which some guests found challenging.

Guests consistently mention the comfort of the beds, spacious rooms, and relaxing atmosphere. The property is described as warm, cosy, and ideal for groups or families, with plenty of space for everyone to unwind.

Facilities are highly rated, with guests noting the exceptionally well-equipped kitchen, modern appliances, powerful showers, and ample hot water. The property is also praised for its maintenance and thoughtful amenities, though a few minor issues (such as a fridge not working) are mentioned.

Many guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as welcome gifts (flowers, chocolates, wine) and festive decorations. However, it should be noted that these gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

Sedbergh - pronounced Sed-Ber – is an ancient market town situated in northern Dentdale within the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The town itself boasts narrow streets, little shops, traditional pubs and a famous school, dating back to 1536. There is also an atmospheric 12th Century church. Dentdale is located amongst rolling hills and stretches 14 miles from the windswept moors below Whernside to the rivers Dee and Rawthey. At the heart of the dale is the town of Dent, which has existed since Norman times and is a labyrinth of winding cobbled streets. There are three golf courses in the vicinity as well as tennis, horse riding and fishing. With such incredible scenery and so many fascinating trails, the area is a great place for walkers and cyclists. This, together with the surrounding valleys and two National Parks, makes Sedburgh a fantastic spot for a holiday outdoors.

The views were absolutely stunning—waking up each morning to that scenery was a highlight on its own. The house was spotless, very well maintained, and felt incredibly comfortable throughout our visit. Thank you for such a fantastic experience. We would happily come back again!

Fabulous accommodation, very clean, spacious and well equipped. wonderful views over the hills, it’s 5 miles from Sedbergh along a narrow road fortunately with plenty of passing places but not too much traffic. We walked down to the bridge which the directions advised AGAINST trying, and yes it’s VERY narrow. Would be happy to book again.
