Please note: There are 2 steps in the garden.. As you arrive at the Beckside House, there is ample private parking directly outside the property making for a smooth transition of bags in the house. The entrance hall is light and airy and has hanging for coats and a rack for shoes. To the left is a good-sized twin bedroom with plenty of storage. This room includes a television. The two single beds are zip and link so can be configured as a superking if preferred (please specify at the time of booking). Situated next to the second bedroom is the open living space, finished to a good standard with a modern feel.
The living area benefits from a 50” TV and gives views to the enclosed patio and garden area, with French doors so you can open the whole space up on warm summer days. There is a round, glass table for dining and the well-appointed kitchen means the cook can still be part of the conversation as dinner is prepared. The kitchen has a large fridge/freezer, electric hob and oven, microwave, air fryer and a dishwasher.
These is also a washing machine for the outdoor enthusiast who may get caught out by the weather. The property houses a large bath to soak away the day’s aches and pains, and a large drench shower. The property is completed by the large master bedroom which has plenty of space, a television and a superking bed to lull you to sleep.
The property is ideally located with the centre of Dalton-in-Furness only a 2-minute walk from the front door. Dalton offers a good range of shops and take-aways, as well as a selection of lovely pubs which offer food as well as a good selection of beers. Within 3 miles are a number of attractions, such as the Furness Abbey Dock Museum, a variety of beaches and a local leisure centre with a great pool for kids.
If you want to travel a bit further afield then within a 20-mile radius there is the World-famous Lake Windermere and Coniston, Manjushri Buddhist Temple, Lakeland Motor Museum, Go-Ape High ropes adventure, Miniature Village, Bigland Hall equestrian (Horse riding) and Lakes Aquarium to name but a few, so there is something for every family member, and of course, you are at the gateway to the whole of the Lake District National Park.

We spent a relaxing week in Beckside House, Storm Boelo notwithstanding. Very quiet, cosy and well appointed cottage with all mod cons. Good WiFi and lovely shower! Great enclosed garden ideal for dogs and children. The town is friendly and has plenty of takeaways and a large Co-op, with Ulverston and Barrow having larger supermarkets including a Booths. Really easy access to countryside walks and beaches as well as the Lake District National Park. As others have noted, access to the cottage is tight, but just approach from the other side of the road and take your time (we managed in a Volvo XC90). Owners were very communicative and friendly.

Great cottage. Everything you need inside - comfy bed, safe garden for children and dogs. Very handy position a couple of lovely dog friendly cafes and pubs. Plenty of takeaways if you don't want to spend time cooking on holiday.Beaches and country parks nearby.

We've had a great week at Beckside House.Spotlessly clean, and very homely, we felt comfy there right away.The kitchen is well equipped, with everything you might need to whip up a meal.The bed is to die for! Super comfortable. We both slept like logs.Lovely relaxing evenings spent in front of the Smart TV ... all the streaming apps were available, so we could carry on with programmes we had been watching at home.Probably one of the best showers we have ever used ... a great rainfall shower, really fab.Our dog enjoyed the enclosed garden ... very safe for him.The only comment would be that the step down from the lounge is a long way down ... maybe a couple of slabs to make a step would be helpful. A super little town, most things on the doorstep, including a small Co-Op supermarket. Larger supermarkets were a very short drive away in either Barrow or Ulverston.Thank you so much, we will be back :-)
