Located less than 10 minutes away from the picturesque coastline, this delightful, detached barn is great for couples - whether it be for a full week’s holiday or a short break. Badgers Sett Brook is also dog friendly, making it the perfect base to explore all that the south-western side of the Isle of Wight has to offer with your four-legged friend.
Brook Bay can be found moments away on the unspoiled south west coast of the island. The beach is made up of golden sands, and is great for many activities, from cricket on the beach, to kite and wind-surfing for the more adventurous. One of the beach’s more unique features is the fossilised forest of huge trees which appears from beneath the waves at Hanover Point at low tide, it’s definitely worthwhile booking a tour on the beach to see the dinosaur footprints in the sandstone ledge.
The island has become a real hot spot for cycling enthusiasts with a choice of challenging off road bridleways, peaceful byways and level purpose-made tracks running along its former railway lines. Cycle to the famous Needles landmark or take on the full round the island route, which is 66 miles long and is used for the annual Isle of Wight Randonnee. You can also travel along the route at a more leisurely pace and along the way you will find numerous restaurants, pubs and cafés amongst the quaint villages and towns serving tasty local produce. Beach ½ mile. Shop and restaurant 2½ miles, pub ¾ mile.

Great location, down a quiet country lane. The only noise is from the birds. 5-10 minutes walk from Brook Bay. Ideal for dog walking. There is also a small grassed area at top of lane if you prefer. We found the property lacking in fundamentals for dog owners. Our dog liked to go in the sea, and run on the beach. There was no outside tap or hose to wash him down after. We had to use a watering can, and going back and forth to the kitchen was time consuming. The bath is deep, and manoeuvring a 20kg dog into it to wash him down was hard. Only tried it once. Alright if you have a small dog. Maybe look into addressing this issue with either an outside tap or changing the bath into a walk in shower. Inside the property, both the settee and chair were uncomfortable. And the bed too small. Ok if you are both of slim build. There was also a lack of cleaning products. Sadly we would not stay there again.

Lovely well equipped accommodation in a good location perfect for myself and the dog. My only gripe would be the very uncomfortable threadbare sofa. It was like sitting on a log all week. This was mentioned on a previous review. Please consider tired walkers who just want something decent to rest their weary bodies on after a long hike.

Had a few blisful days in Badgers Sett. Great little cottage, perfect for 2 of us and our little dog. Perfect location, close to Brook beach and drivable to restaurants, cafes, pubs etc. Would definitely return, loved it.
