About this Holiday Cottage

Oak Cottage is a 16th century Grade 2 listed stone cottage in central Kirkby Lonsdale, directly overlooking St Mary's Church awith views of the Barbon Fells beyond. The accommodation is ideal for one or two couples and one well behaved dog. A lovely cottage with a very warm ambiance in which to relax and enjoy a wonderful break. Full of original features, with lots of exposed stonework, oak beams.

Situated in a cobbled courtyard, in the centre of the town, and giving easy access to the many interesting shops, excellent pubs cafes and restaurants that Kirkby Lonsdale is so popular for, and all are just a stone's throw away.

Inside

The first floor light and airy lounge is full of character and has windows on both sides with lovely views over the churchyard, towards the famous Ruskin’s View and the fells.

Great features include exposed beams and stonework and a galleried mezzanine floor which is the second bedroom, a stone fireplace with electric woodburner stove, two comfortable leather sofas and HD TV with Sky facility. A separate cosy snug area just off the lounge has two leather tub chairs, a bookcase full of books and coffee table - great for enjoying quiet moments.

The fully fitted kitchen on the ground floor has a built in oven, electric hob, dishwasher, microwave, all essential equipment and a dining area with a large oak table and chairs, next to windows, overlooking St Mary’s Church.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

The accommodation sleeps four and consists of a spacious basement bedroom with double bed and en-suite bathroom with wc, washbasin and walk-in shower. There is a second mezzanine bedroom with double bed, which is located above the first floor lounge, with an additional three piece bathroom and over bath shower on the ground floor just off the hallway.

Other Facilities

Professionally laundered towels and linen provided along with essential kitchen items such as tea,coffee,sugar and basic condiments, cleaning materials and dishwasher tablets, kitchen towels etc.  A little basket of toiletries is also provided and there is a welcome bottle of wine and nibbles for you when you arrive.

Kirkby Lonsdale offers much including many lovely walks including along the River Lune and a visit to the famous Ruskin's View in the churchyard. Excellent restaurants,take-aways cafes, pubs and shops make it the perfect place to spend time without needing the car.
