With its gatehouse serving as the village's entry, the Priory Church, one of the finest ecclesiastical structures in northern England, continues to be the centre of the neighbourhood. Beautiful streamside walks, charming cobbled streets lined with antique shops, a charming gift shop, warm, traditional pubs serving real ale, the nationally acclaimed, Michelin Star-awarded L'Enclume restaurant, and the Cartmel Village shop, which sells the world-famous sticky toffee pudding are all found in the village. Take advantage of the fantastic walking options in the stunning, unspoiled countryside, and travel nearby to the Cartmel Racetrack, the Campbell Legend Bluebird Show, the Lakeland Automotive Museum, and Holker Hall with its magnificent gardens. the serene beach

It was tastefully presented. The kitchen was lovely and contained more appliances than other cottages I have stayed at. The layout of the cottage was quirky which added to its charm. The proximity of the cottage to the racecourse was an added benefit and made our day at the races so easy. I just wish we had booked a longer break.
