Guests praise the beautiful, well-decorated property with stunning river views and proximity to Chester centre. The terraced garden and quiet location add to the charm. While some mention steep stairs and parking challenges, the overall experience is highly regarded, with thoughtful touches like wine and milk on arrival enhancing the stay.
Most guests found the property clean and well-maintained, though a few noted dust and unclean kitchenware. The majority of reviews, however, reflect a high standard of cleanliness.
The location is consistently praised for its stunning views of the River Dee, proximity to Chester centre, and easy access to local attractions. It's described as quiet and perfect for exploring the city.
Guests find the beds comfortable and the house spacious. However, some guests noted issues with steep stairs and one uncomfortable chair, slightly affecting the comfort score.
Facilities are generally good, with a well-equipped kitchen and generous provisions. Criticisms include Wi-Fi issues and the need for better maintenance of outdoor areas and some appliances.
Guests appreciate the thoughtful gestures such as wine and milk on arrival, though it's important to note that such gifts are kindly provided but not guaranteed for every stay.
A superb Grade II listed, Georgian mid-terrace property, set beside the River Dee and commanding some of the best views in Chester. Dating back to 1827, this wonderfully-presented townhouse is ideal for those wishing to be close to the hustle and bustle of this beautiful city, yet have the feeling of open countryside with river views and panoramas across the beautiful Chester Meadows. Set over three floors, this stunning cottage has been finished to exacting standards to provide a comfortable retreat, with a modern fitted kitchen, two stylish living rooms and three inviting bedrooms, making it ideal for families and groups of friends.
Outside, the terraced gardens cascade down to the riverside, providing the perfect place to while away a quiet afternoon or evening, reading a book or sharing a bottle of wine. Take a short stroll into Chester along the riverbank to experience a fantastic range of renowned eateries, entertainment venues and of course, world-famous shopping on the Tudor Rows. Within five minutes’ walk you can be roaming the ancient city walls or discovering the largest Roman amphitheatre in Britain, or why not take a short drive to spend the day at Chester Zoo? This superb, historic city is also a great base from which to explore North Wales, the North West and the Peak District, all within easy reach and well worth a visit.
Chester has quite rightly been described as 'the jewel of the North-West of England'. Perhaps the most fascinating aspect of the city is that within a very small area there is evidence of every period of history - from the old walls and amphitheatre of Roman times, through medieval churches, Elizabethan timber-framed town houses and Georgian terraces, to Victorian restorations and 21st century architecture. The city has much to offer.

Grosvenor Park nearby is a lovely Park and pleasant to walk around. River boats also nearby, an enjoyable trip down the River Dee giving the history of the surrounding area. Chester Centre only minutes away with a wide range of shops, cafes and restaurants. Gill the lady looking after the property is very helpful and a lovely person.

Would have liked an opening window in bedroom, even in winter we prefer fresh air and heating off, as we sleep so much better. Place was spotless and we needed nothing
