The kitchen has plenty of amenities and is bright and airy, a great place for guests to cook together, and you can enjoy your meal either in the charming dining room beside a second traditional brick fireplace and woodburning stove, or outside in the warmer months on the patio furniture. Upstairs, three tasteful bedrooms, each with their own handy en-suite, offer a space to cosy up for the night, including a beautiful king-size with a desk and quirky wallpaper, a double with fitted wardrobes and a single with storage. Warkworth is a fantastic location, steeped in history and heritage, so why not pay the local castle a visit and learn more about the town and surrounding area? Warkworth has a beautiful sandy beach, where you can enjoy a stroll in the salty air or even try out watersports, and is within easy reach of other walks, such as Hauxley Nature Reserve. Enjoy a hot meal in the local eateries or head over to the harbour town of Amble, where there are more eateries, walks and a little further away you will find the wonderful Northumberland Country Zoo. Lying in the loop of the River Coquet on the Heritage Coast, Warkworth is a picturesque village, dominated by the dramatic ruins of its 12th century castle. The history of the village and the castle are intertwined with the Percy Family who took over the castle in 1332. The Percys’ other home is nearby Alnwick Castle, most recently associated with Harry Potter as the film location of Hogwarts School. The main street is lined with Georgian and early Victorian houses and there is an exceptional range of galleries, antiques shops, a village shop/Post Office, pubs, restaurants and gift shops to suit all tastes. Warkworth has its own stretch of sandy beach and a 9 hole pay and play golf course. Also within easy touring distance are Hadrian’s Wall, Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island, the Farne Islands, several wonderful beaches and Alnwick Garden with its remarkable water cascade and Tree House Restaurant.
