The hot tub is NOT private - it's your own personal hot tub but certainly not private as ours backed onto the Coach House Hotel and was open for all to see. It's needs screening and a canopy for use during bad weather. We did not realise the Coach House hotel and restaurant on site is an independent and is not attached to the lodge site. They were not open Monday and Tuesday and only accommodates residents of the hotel in the restaurant on a Wednesday and when we rang for a delivery (a service they promote) they were not doing them on Weds as they were too busy. We managed to get a table booking at the La Petit Chateau nearby, but this was only because we visited on Monday afternoon and they could only offer Thursday evening as they were booked up as it is a very busy wedding venue. However, that hotel / restaurant is highly recommended.

There were 5 adults. It was clean and the beds were nice and fresh. However the beds were uncomfortable, as was the sofa. Something I often find in holiday cottages. The shower had little pressure and the one over the bath would boil if anyone ran the other shower, flushed the chain or ran a tap. We got wise to it but it is pretty worrying as it could scald if you didn’t jump out of the way fast enough. The land when we arrived were disgusting had to be scraped clean before we could use them. And the handle of the saucepan was dangerously loose. Apart from all of that we had a pleasant stay. It’s nice and quiet even tho the lodges are close together. It’s nicely placed for visiting places, but too far out to walk to the pub or shop.
