Take a leisurely stroll along the River Wansbeck and admire the picturesque wildlife, before visiting the nearby market town of Morpeth, home to a variety of independent boutiques, cafes and restaurants, as well as a range of historic buildings and landmarks. The only negative was no outside furniture to sit outside and admire the view I didn’t get why no furniture we had to go out and buy some chairs to sit outside.

The location of Fairwinds is perfect with views of a beach that always has something going on. Paddle boarding, open water swimming, boats in and out of the water, a park run Saturday morning, people riding horses into the sea and even had the lifeboat launched in earnest one evening. Our only criticism of the facilities is the same one as other reviews, no furniture in the garden, a nice patio but nothing on it. Will definitely book again though perhaps take our deckchairs

The views from Fairwinds are second to none looking out over the seafront and promenade. The only down side to our stay was the fact that we had a lovely large patio area overlooking the beach without a stick of outdoor furniture to be found anywhere so all our anticipations of alfresco dining or simple sitting in the garden enjoying the sunshine we’re scuppered immediately, very disappointing.
